Laptop tables are growing in popularity as interior spaces are designed to be more multi-functional. Hotels are responding to the requirement for guests to work anywhere, whether in the lobby area, cafe or their bedroom.

While many offices are creating more informal spaces for working and interacting with colleagues, in favour of traditional fixed desks. Whether for work or pleasure, so many people now have mobile devices that it makes sense for the combination of seating and table to facilitate this in a comfortable way.

The latest Metro laptop table from Morgan is inspired by the form of a boomerang. The foot of the metal base is shaped and scaled for ease of use and the table top is a geometric form based loosely on a triangle with squared corners. Offered with a solid wood lipped detail and a variety of laminates, this laptop table offers a lightweight and versatile solution.

The Boston laptop table with circular top and cantilever base looks attractive in traditional all timber finish, but is also offered in a versatile range of materials. Bases can be powder coated metal in any colour and the top can be sandblasted or coloured glass, laminate or patterned glass to suit individual design briefs.

Gallery Direct delivered 12 rooms of furniture and mirrors to the Muckrach Country House Hotel in February 2015, as part of the hotel’s refurbishment. The Muckrach re-opened in April 2015 after their 14 month renovation project. Following on from this, it was recently announced that they have been ranked as 3rd best in the UK and 11th best in Europe in the Best Small Hotel category of the 2016 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice awards for hotels.

Keith Clarke, Contract Sales & Development Manager for Gallery, worked with the Muckrach to select and deliver the furniture and mirrors for the refurbishment, which included the stunning Alexandria, Maine and Spire bedsteads from Gallery’s Frank Hudson brand.

Kobe celebrates January Furniture Show success

Luxury fabric specialist Kobe UK is celebrating a successful first time run at this year’s January Furniture Show.

Bringing its new upholstery collections to the show, the company was able to meet up with existing customers as well as growing its new customer base and significantly boosting sales.

New to the show was Kobe’s Elegance, inspired by Art Deco, reflecting the lavish glamour reminiscent of this period. Also for the first time and giving even greater choice, Kobe brought together timeless designs with an array of textiles in a library of 36 sample books. It included more than 700 fabrics in a wide range of colours, textures and patterns for today’s high-end domestic and contract markets.

Said David Harris, MD of Kobe UK: “This was a fantastic show for us. It was a great opportunity to meet new customers and the ideal platform for us to promote our new collections.”

On a separate stand the company also showcased its Essente collection for those who want a cost effective option with the quality and reassurance of the Kobe name. This fresh and contemporary range features a variety of plains in a cool linen, soft suede and silk satin appearance.
Said David: “Listening to our customers is our number one priority and the feedback we got about the collections was fantastic. We will certainly be back again next year!”
