As the Eden Project celebrates its 25th anniversary, Hypnos is continuing a seven-year partnership that has brought plant-based materials and more responsible thinking into mattress design for both residential and hospitality interiors…
British bedmaker Hypnos has announced the continuation of its partnership with the Eden Project as the environmental charity celebrates its 25th anniversary.
First established in 2019, the collaboration has evolved from fundraising and community initiatives into product development, including the Eden Project Harmony mattress, which combines plant-based fibres with RWS-certified British wool to provide a more sustainable sleep solution for hospitality projects.
The Eden Project has also celebrated its anniversary with a special Garden Party, an innovative garden at the Chelsea Flower Show, and the ground-breaking ceremony at the charity’s new £100 million Morecambe attraction, set to open in 2028.

Over the course of the partnership with the Eden Project, Hypnos has generated funds in support of the charity through staff fundraising and new mattresses created in partnership with the Eden team.
Product development began with the creation of the Soil Association certified Origins Organic Collection, that won a Best of Organic Market (BOOM) Award in 2023, swiftly followed by the Luxurious Earth collection with Bensons for Beds, both endorsed by the charity. Hypnos then launched the Eden Project mattress collection – mattresses upholstered with simply plant-based fibres – some of which can be found living within the Eden Projects’ Biomes in Cornwall.
In 2024, Hypnos introduced the Eden Project Harmony mattress which brings the same plant-based fibres and combined with RWS certified British wool, to both luxury and sustainable hospitality projects, including Voco Zeal Exeter, IHG’s first net zero carbon hotel.
Hypnos has also introduced its local charity partner Chiltern Rangers, who work on community conservation projects across the Chilterns hills, to a workshop at the Eden Project, and supported Eden’s national community campaign The Big Lunch at its offices.
David Baldry, managing director, Hypnos, says: “At its heart, this is a partnership between a team of people who share a vision and drive to make tangible, positive actions for the planet, whilst creating opportunities to bring communities and people together. “
“The Eden Project partnership has seen Hypnos raise funds and promote the charity through its products, events and campaigns, and involving its whole team and customers. The charity’s garden on the Hypnos stand at the industry’s annual exhibition is always a talking point! We are grateful for the Eden Project’s expertise and sense of fun at all levels but more than this, we all work hard to create a leading and successful ‘commercial’ charity partnership.
“We are excited to take part in these 25th anniversary celebrations with the Eden Project but also celebrate our own 7th year working together and put plans in place for the future.”

Andy Jasper, Chief Executive officer, Eden Project, says: “There has never been a better time to celebrate our long standing partnership with Hypnos. It’s a fantastic relationship built around our shared commitment to regenerative approaches to community and the environment, supporting Eden’s work enriching life while demonstrating what is possible when working with nature.
“What makes it particularly special is the connection back to Eden itself, linking the plants and natural fibres we grow and champion with the materials used to create the Eden mattress collection. As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, we’re delighted to continue our partnership with Hypnos and excited about what we will achieve together next.”
