Bespoke switches and socket outlets in Focus SB Ambassador Square faceplate style are specified to complement eclectic interior details of guest rooms and suites of London’s newest hotel, The Newman Fitzrovia.

Focus SB’s expert design, manufacturing and projects management team is delighted the company’s premium electrical accessories are specified for London’s  The Newman on Newman Street in Fitzrovia. Three years in the making, this is a unique flagship project from international hospitality management company Kinsfolk & Co.

The Newman appointed London-based Pernille Lind and Richy Almond of Lind + Almond, known for designing spaces with an understated worldly eclecticism, to lead on the design of the 81-bedroom hotel. Working closely with dedicated regional Focus SB Business Development Manager Mike Johnson and Paul Brackley, Founder & CEO of award-winning British hospitality brand Kinsfolk & Co, Lind + Almond had the flexibility to create bespoke solid brass bedhead panels finished in Chocolate Bronze, featuring contrasting Unlacquered Polished Brass round button dry contact retractive keypad switches for an aesthetically-pleasing and tactile KNX installation.

Design and finish continuity with unique contrast detail was achieved across multiple eye-catching switches and sockets specified for The Newman Penthouse and guest suites, in Unlacquered Polished Brass and Chocolate Bronze finishes.

Bespoke Focus SB products specified included 4-gang and 5-gang round button dry contact retractive keypad switches with laser marking, vertical plates with a shaver socket and volume control (bathrooms) and multi-service bedhead panels finished in Chocolate Bronze with 1-gang 13A switched socket, 1x USB charger Type A&C, 1x 6G round button keypads with contrasting Unlacquered Polished Brass buttons.

It was important to the designers for this level of flexibility of metal finishes across multiple decorative accessories, and Focus SB was able to deliver.

“Metal finishes play a significant role in tying together the material palette of a project. Having the flexibility to specify complementary finishes across accessories allowed us to maintain consistency and ensure the detailing felt intentional rather than generic,” commented Richy Almond on Focus SB’s bespoke products and services. “Their willingness to collaborate and adapt finishes helped ensure that technical components integrated seamlessly into the design language. Being able to customise elements meant the electrical accessories became part of the architectural detailing rather than something that sat awkwardly on top of it.”
