    The most exciting new hotel opening at the heart of the City of London, The Montcalm London City at The Brewery opens its doors with a soft launch on the 23rd May, with the official grand opening being held at the end of September 2011. Formerly the site of the Whitbread & Co brewery, this exceptional Grade II listed building has been stunningly transformed into a contemporary 5* hotel whilst preserving its heritage values. With the soft launch opening on the 23rd May, 100 rooms will be available with all the luxurious amenities expected of a 5* hotel including; a butler service for the suites and studios, an executive Club Lounge, room service, meetings and banqueting rooms catering from 10-100 guests and a contemporary British restaurant and cocktail bar called The Chiswell Street Dining Rooms, run by ETM, the team behind The Botanist and The Cadogan Arms. A further 135 rooms making the complete hotel offering up to 235 rooms and suites, a luxurious wellness centre, and a gastro pub, will be fully opened by the end of September 2011.

    Formerly the site of the Whitbread & Co, Britain’s first purpose-built mass production brewery, the original building dates back from as early at 1750 when Samuel Whitbread moved his brewing operations to Chiswell Street on the ‘eastern rim of Georgian London’. The last beer brewed there was in 1976, when the site was then turned into Whitbread PLC’s Head Office and the City of London’s leading Conference & Banqueting Centre, The Brewery.

    With a 25 luxury suites, 11 deluxe studios and 199 City and Club rooms at the hotel there is also an additional luxury annexe opposite which holds 25 of the luxury rooms and suites called The London City Suites by Montcalm originally known as The Brewer’s House. High speed wireless internet access will be complimentary and each room will house an iPod docking station and over 40 satellite TV Channels. The beautiful design led suites with accompanying stylish en-suite bathrooms will have rain showers and offer Elemis or Acqua da Palma amenities. For families there are beautifully appointed interconnecting rooms and long stays will benefit from complete kitchenettes. The suites and studio will offer a private butler service.

    For meetings and banqueting there are six meetings rooms with natural daylight offering up state of the art audio visual and technological facilities.
