The last weekend in October had the Steigenberger Hotel Group celebrating the completion of the renovation works at the Steigenberger Parkhotel in Düsseldorf on the Königsallee 1a with 600 invited guests.Since 2011 more than ten million euros have been invested in the reconstruction and conversion of the lobby, terrace, winter garden, restaurants, rooms and suites.

“For us, the Steigenberger Parkhotel in Düsseldorf is a showpiece, which combines both, the classic elegance of a Grand Hotel with a rich tradition and the luxury of a modern Five Star Hotel”, says Puneet Chhatwal, CEO of the Steigenberger Hotels AG.

“Its prime location on Düsseldorf’s glamorous grand boulevard, the ‘Königsallee’, directly opposite to the so-called “Kö-Bogen” underlines the individuality and exclusiveness of the object, and we are very proud that it shines in new splendour now”, Chhatwal adds.

That is the reason, why the “Grand Opening” became such a shining, varied and exclusive event. According to the motto “Steigenberger Parkhotel Düsseldorf in its new look” guests from economy, politics, the show-biz and the entertainment industry ambled through the new premises.

During individual tours, the invited guests could get a personal impression of the newly designed rooms and suites.

An event for all senses – The outdoor multimedia show arranged by Frank Alexander (Paranoid-Art) with lasers, beamers and flame throwers, projected on water surfaces, and the illumination of the outer facade of the Parkhotel provided a spectacular performance and left a lasting impression on the guests and hundreds of spectators.

The chef de cuisine of the Steigenberger Parkhotel in Düsseldorf, Michael Görres, his colleague and starred-chef, Patrick Bittner, from the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof and the starred-chefs Yoshizumi Nagaya and Jean Claude Borgueil (“Im Schiffchen”, Kaiserwerth) were responsible for the culinary delights. Show-chef René Kalobius impressed with his molecular kitchen.

The revenue of the charity activities of 5,000 Euro were donated to a project of the German Red Cross called “Herzwerk”, brought into being by actress Jenny Jürgens. During the presentation ceremony, she thanked the organizers and guests personally for the excellent result.

“The evening was a full success for us, as our guests enjoyed it and they are all impressed by our “new look”. It was an eventful and successful start and we are looking forward to a bright future”, as Michael Kain, Director of the Steigenberger Parkhotel in Düsseldorf puts it.
