Hilton Worldwide Set to Transform Economy Hotel Sector in Turkey

Hilton Worldwide has recently announced the signing of four new Hampton by Hilton hotels in Turkey, as it expands its brand offering in what is a key development market for Hilton Worldwide, with 34 hotels either currently operating or under development in the country. The four new signings are: Hampton by Hilton Istanbul Kayasehir; Hampton by Hilton Rize; Hampton by Hilton Corlu; and Hampton by Hilton Gaziantep.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, Europe and Africa, Hilton Worldwide, said, “We have already seen significant growth of our Hilton Hotels & Resorts, DoubleTree by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn brands in Turkey and now we have a further four Hampton by Hilton hotels under development. These latest signings join the existing Hampton by Hiltons currently under development in Ordu and Bursa, which are expected to open later this year.”

Hampton by Hilton Istanbul Kayasehir
The new-build hotel will be located in the heart of Kayasehir, a new satellite city currently under construction to the north of Istanbul, which will be home to more than 250,000 residents. Hampton by Hilton Istanbul Kayasehir will feature 144 bedrooms and form part of a mixed use development including a shopping centre, leisure facilities, restaurant outlets and office space. The hotel will benefit from the extension of the Istanbul metro line, a new highway and a third Bosphorus bridge – all key infrastructures improvements either planned or underway. The hotel build will consist of a six floor tower with three meeting rooms, a 24-hour fitness suite and car parking. The announcement of Hampton by Hilton Istanbul Kayasehir follows the signing of a management agreement with Makro Insaat Ticaret Ltd. Sti.

Hampton by Hilton Rize
Overlooking the Black Sea and located on the main coastal road to Artvin, the new-build Hampton by Hilton Rize will feature 90 bedrooms and will be located approximately seven kilometres from the city centre. Rize is becoming increasingly popular as a tourist destination, with the local area known for its incredible mountain range, which attracts visitors for outdoor activity tours. The hotel will also benefit from the city’s organized industrial zone, which boasts significant industry including tea production, nut processing and food manufacturing. The nearest airport is Trabzon, which is approximately 72 kilometres away. The announcement of Hampton by Hilton Rize follows the signing of a franchise agreement with YTP Turizm Yatirimlari ve Iisletmeleri A.S.

Hampton by Hilton Corlu
Located on the east side of Corlu, a rapidly developing industrial city, the new-build hotel is strategically located on the main thoroughfare from Istanbul to Turkey’s border with Greece and Bulgaria. Hampton by Hilton Corlu will feature 136 bedrooms and form part of a mixed-use development with restaurant outlets in close proximity to the hotel. Corlu International Airport is approximately five kilometres away and the hotel will benefit from its proximity to the Cerkezkoy Organized Industrial Zone, one of the largest industrial zones in Turkey and home to multiple major industrial companies. The hotel will consist of a seven floor tower with three meeting rooms, 24-hour fitness suite and car parking. The announcement of Hampton by Hilton Corlu follows the signing of a franchise agreement with Onur Isil Otomotiv Insaat Turizm Sanayi veTicaret Ltd. Sti.

Hampton by Hilton Gaziantep
The new-build hotel will feature 116 bedrooms and will be located in the city’s busy commercial district, within the Milenyum Business Centre, which is also home to office, retail and restaurant outlets. The hotel will benefit from three meeting rooms, a 24-hour fitness suite and car parking. Known as a gateway to the Middle East, the city has an important role in Turkey’s commercial and industrial infrastructure with four organized industrial zones and connections to key cities in the region. The announcement of Hampton by Hilton Gaziantep follows the signing of a management agreement with Muharrem Balat – Insaat Yuksek Muhendisi.

With a Turkish pipeline of six Hampton by Hiltons, all of the new hotels will feature the brand’s signature offerings, with a stylish lobby, free internet access throughout and working zone. Guests will also enjoy comfortable and flexible bedrooms all featuring the Clean and Fresh Hampton Bed. The hotels are designed and styled to appeal to business and leisure travelers, offering best-in-class service and comfort. Additional guest amenities include the free On the House hot breakfast, a 24-hour snack area, and a bar area to help guests connect after meetings.

Fun fact: I’m a keen cyclist and will happily bore people with copious amounts of cycling chat. My top cycling experience (so far) would have to be riding in the spectacular mountains of Crete.

Work highlights: Charles joined Forum Events in 2022. With a background in publishing, editorial media and events, Charles brings a wealth of experience to his role as Senior Production Manager. Having being involved with SPACE from the outset, he is excited to see the brand grow and develop.

Fun fact: People tell Sienna she gives off Bridget Jones vibes, and she loves to bake, always making sure there are shortbreads floating around the office

Work highlights: Sienna joined Forum Events & Media Group while studying Communications and Media, starting in the sales team where she managed and helped launch the first the PA Life Leading Venues of London SHOWCASE, where she built relationships with luxury venues across the capital. Drawn to the stories behind these spaces, she naturally transitioned into the editorial team, creating social media and editorial content. Upon graduating in June 2026, she is excited to be joining as Assistant Editor for Hotel Designs and SPACE.

Fun fact: When not working, Jess can usually be found tending to her kitchen garden in the Sussex countryside or foraging for herbs in the nearby woods. A keen grower, she recently studied a RHS Level 2 Diploma in the Principles of Horticulture during her spare time.

Work highlights: Jess joined SPACE magazine in 2022 and has since progressed from Assistant Editor to Editor. During this time, she has worked across many aspects of the publication – from shaping editorial strategy and overseeing operations to contributing to art direction and representing the brand on stage at industry events including Surface Design Show and WOW!house.

Alongside her role at SPACE, Jess has built a creative career spanning the arts, culture, design and travel sectors. Prior to joining the magazine, she spent more than a decade in the commercial art industry, in artist liaison, gallery management, and curating collections for the hospitality sector across hotels and cruise ships. During this time, she also worked on freelance projects as a writer, photographer, and creative content producer.
 
Jess studied photojournalism at London College of Communication and the Danish School of Media and Journalism and holds a first-class BA (Hons) in Culture, Criticism and Curation from Central Saint Martins.

Fun fact: Katy has spent years perfecting all kinds of accents and loves a good impersonation!

Work highlights: Katy has been with Hotel Designs since the beginning, way back in 2015 when Forum Events & Media Group acquired the brand.

During this time, she has fostered many meaningful relationships with clients from across the hospitality spectrum, as well as playing a pivotal role in the launch of The Brit List Awards, Hotel Designs MEET UPs, client-led roundtables and panel talks, brand and website redesigns, HD Wellness Sets, DESIGN POD podcast, Hotel Designs LIVE panel talk series, Accessible Design Talks and more. Katy is always on the lookout for the next opportunity to help grow the Hotel Designs brand even further.
 
Most recently Katy has stepped in to the role of Publisher at SPACE magazine, the printed bi-monthly publication focused on hotel design, architecture, and development.
