The Generation Companies, LLC (Generation), a real estate developer, owner, receiver, asset manager and operator of extended-stay and select- service hotels, recently broke ground on the Augusta, Georgia Home2 Suites by Hilton. The 123-suite, four-story, upper mid-tier hotel brand brings a hip and humble design to its target audience: the savvy yet cost-conscious extended-stay guest. Located at Walton Way Extension and Exchange Lane, the property is slated for completion the first quarter of 2013. “We have worked closely with the neighborhood to design a hotel that will be an excellent addition to the area,” said William Smith, Managing Director, Real Estate & Construction at Generation. “It is located on the hill overlooking the Augusta Exchange, an 87-acre regional power center with extensive shopping and restaurant facilities.”

“We are excited to have kicked off another great hotel development at a time when it is still quite challenging to get new hotel construction deals done,” said Generation President, H. Mark Daley, III. “With our second Home2 Suites by Hilton underway, we continue our 50+ year legacy of leading the industry with progressive lodging development. For this project our goal is laser focused: provide a perfect Home2 hotel to Augusta, Georgia in time to host guests for next year’s Masters Golf Tournament. That’s only nine months away, but our team is up to the challenge, as they have proven time and time again.”
