Hotelier brings Global Cookie CARE Campaign to London as part of worldwide mission to share chocolate chip delights in major cities around the world.

DoubleTree by Hilton today shared 2,500 of its legendary chocolate chip cookies in just 25 minutes with lucky Londoners on their lunch break, to mark the 25th anniversary of the upscale, global hotel brand’s welcoming sweet treat. This special London event is part of a Global Cookie CARE Campaign launched this week to share thousands of the brand’s beloved chocolate chip cookies with the public at special events in major cities around the world this year. Rob Palleschi, global head, DoubleTree by Hilton, said: “The DoubleTree by Hilton tradition of a warm, chocolate chip cookie welcome at check-in has set a unique hospitality standard since 1986 and is symbolic of our longstanding CARE service culture, which inspires us to create a rewarding guest experience for our guests, our communities and each other. We also understand that in today’s dehumanising travel environment small acts of kindness, like providing our warm chocolate chip cookie welcome, can have a positive impact on people all over the world,”

The London event took place on Oxford and Regent Streets, around the four entrances to Oxford Circus underground station, at midday on 5 May 2011. The DoubleTree by Hilton Global Cookie CARE Committee, dressed in chef’s hats, handed out 2,500 fresh-baked cookies in 25 minutes to delighted passersby.

“We’re thrilled to be in London this week to share our delicious cookies with the lunchtime crowd,” added Palleschi, “particularly as our presence in the UK is growing with eight DoubleTree by Hilton hotels now open across England and Scotland, including two in the capital itself.”

Following are a few “tid-bites” about the hospitality icon that is the DoubleTree by Hilton chocolate chip cookie:
