Cliq Designs, the Preston based soft furnishings manufacturer, has played a significant role in helping to create the finished look and feel for the recently completed Scarlet Hotel at Mawgan Porth in Cornwall, UK.The 37 bedroom Scarlet Hotel is a sister hotel to the award winning Bedruthan Steps Hotel, and has been conceived and developed within a vision of becoming Cornwall’s leading luxury eco hotel.

Working in conjunction with Stephan Oberwegner at Max Bentheim Associates, Cliq directors Adam and Paul Bolton carried out a site survey at the pre-completion stage to assess requirements for the development of a sample room.

Cliq Designs produced a complete solution for the test guest room, including curtains, voiles, throws, bed valances, headboards and cushions.

The sample curtains and voiles were made with Ripplefold headings, with the header tape sewn within the face fabric and lining to ensure an equally attractive appearance from both sides – an important factor when guests will spend a lot of time on their balcony.

With the sample exercise completed, Cliq produced all soft furnishings and curtains for the guest rooms and public areas, with each room specification a unique order to accommodate the hotel’s curved layout.

The Cliq fitting team then went back to site to carry out track, curtain and voile fitting over a period of three weeks prior to the opening of the hotel.

Cliq managing director Adam Bolton says that the Scarlet Hotel project underlines the company’s ability to provide a complete package to clients – even where the specification is complex.
