Malmaison Hotel du Vin, the leading lifestyle hotel group has taken an exciting and important step closer to bringing the famous Malmaison brand to Bournemouth.

The brand is pleased to announce that it has signed a development agreement to build a multi-million pound stunning Malmaison hotel on Bath Road.

The site has already received outline planning permission to be developed and construction work is set to begin in 2018. The new hotel will offer over 100 stylish bedrooms and stunning suites, with the development expected to generate 85 new local jobs.

The hotel will also bring Chez Mal Bar and Brasserie to Bournemouth. Its stylish surroundings include a rooftop bar and terrace, which provide the ideal setting for those looking to take on Malmaison’s famously creative cocktails and mouthwatering menus. For those wanting to mix business with pleasure, the hotel will also include the brand’s ground-breaking meeting and events concept, Work + Play, mixing Malmaison’s classic style with high tech systems, private meeting pods and flexible pricing. The hotel will also boast a gym, swimming pool and beauty rooms, allowing guests and local residents the opportunity to work off calories and beautify in true Mal style.

The news comes at an exciting time for the Group, following a period of significant growth over the last 12 months. Recent highlights include the plans to introduce Malmaison to York and the continued roll-out of Chez Mal and Work + Play, both part of a wider multi-million pound investment programme in the brand.

Guus Bakker, Chief Executive Officer, Malmaison Hotel du Vin, said, “Bournemouth is a fantastic destination. The vibrancy of the town means that it is also a perfect location for the Malmaison brand. We look forward to working closely with all local stakeholders to bring this exciting opportunity to life.”
