Geberit is the most innovative brand in the plumbing industry, with several of its sanitary systems solutions being given the seal of approval as Best Product of the Year at the prestigious Plus X Awards in Germany.Picking up a trio of awards for the Geberit AquaClean, Monolith and DuoFresh products, Geberit also received the much-coveted Most Innovative Brand Award in the sanitary product group at the awards ceremony.

The Plus X Award is one of the world’s largest innovation awards for technology, sports and lifestyle products, recognising those products and brands that offer innovative technologies, extraordinary designs and sleek, intelligent operating concepts. The Most Innovative Brand is the highest award of the Plus X Award and honours the brands with the most seals of approval within a product group.

Criteria for the Best Product of the Year included quality, functionality, ergonomics and design; all factors that were more than met by the three Geberit innovations recognised at this year’s awards.

Geberit AquaClean combines the most natural form of washing with complete comfort and an elegant design, offering the perfect model for every requirement, from the compact enhancement solution to the complete integrated WC system.

Ideal for converting a freestanding WC to a wall-hung version, Geberit’s Monolith is a slimline sanitary module with integrated cistern that can be connected to existing plumbing work just as easily as a close-coupled toilet, with no chiselling or re-tiling required. With its slim profile the Monolith doesn’t impinge on space, while its clear, simple lines and high-quality materials make it an attractive alternative to conventional visible cisterns.

To be launched in the UK in April 2012, Geberit DuoFresh is a WC system that brings a whole new feeling of freshness to the bathroom. With the secret concealed behind the wall, a switch on the actuator plate activates odour extraction, cleaning the air with active carbon filters and resupplying it to the room.

Marketing and Communications Manager at Geberit, Sara Johnston, said: “The Plus X seal of approval stands as a visible symbol of the innovation of these products, giving retailers a powerful way of helping customers in their purchasing decision. The awards are highly regarded within the industry and being recognised with the title of Most Innovative Brand award is a well-deserved honour.”
