With the cold weather behind us and warm days ahead, is it time for a change of décor? Kobe, the luxury fabric specialist is predicting exciting interior trends for the summer of 2016. Think glamorous, cool looks for hot summer days.

For beautiful summer style choose fabrics with a soft natural linen touch in sophisticated cream, sand, light grey or charcoal and complement with shimmering yarns in silver and gold.

David Harris, MD, said: “Sheers are perfect for summer, they are soft and elegant. Choose from fine chenille and satin in graceful pastel hues with intricate trellis and contemporary medallion designs. Create a room that is simple and chic.”

Summer pastel shades are always popular, so for those who want quiet balmy evenings, go for a palette of rich and neutral tones in fabrics of cool linen, satin and subtle metallic. Use opulent curtain and upholstery textiles to provide endless creative opportunities for a season of elegance and grandeur. Add an ambience of pure luxury with statement pieces, combined with timeless plains and semi plains in sumptuous velvet and woven jacquard in distinct and intricate designs of geometric, floral, medallion and trellis patterns.

Said David: “This summer’s look will feature an assortment of rich and sophisticated tones which can be mixed and matched to create an exciting interior. For those who want luxurious easy-to-care-for, washable fabrics that are not too expensive, there’s a collection that ticks all the boxes.

“As the new season gets underway, it’s exciting to look forward to something new. So whether it’s the calm and cool or glamorous and rich, summer has never looked more promising.”

Kobe’s Elements collection of 100% flame retardant chic and contemporary fabrics is for both domestic and contract window décor and soft furnishings. Its Elegance collection is inspired by Art Deco, the most fashionable international design movement in modern art from 1925 until the 1940s.

All Kobe’s upholstery fabrics offer exceptional durability, scoring highly on the Martindale Rub Test. Kobe’s UK operation is based in Crowthorne, Berkshire.
