The 3 star Olde Bull Inn hotel and AA rosette restaurant in Barton Mills is celebrating after holding a successful open day last Thursday 4th November. Local businesses were invited to have a tour of the hotel, bar and kitchen and award winning restaurant, following a three year programme of extensive refurbishment, and were also treated to complimentary drinks and samples of the award winning chefs canapés. The first thirty businesses over the door were also given a goody bag of local produce from the Olde Bull Inns suppliers. In the evening, locals were invited to join the festivities, and were also treated to canapés from the new kitchen and they also enjoyed live music from the Bongo Man followed by a fireworks extravaganza.

Cheryl Hickman, owner of the Olde Bull said: “We were really happy with the event, it was a fantastic opportunity to show local businesses the excellent facilities we now have at The Olde Bull, and how much it has changed from just a few years ago. It was also great fun to celebrate with the locals and other regular customers in the evening, and they all enjoyed the chance to explore the hotel and see the fantastic, contemporary new bedrooms and state of the art bathrooms which most had never seen before.”

The highlight of the day for most of the visitors was the chance to watch the chefs at work whilst having a tour of the new look kitchen, which has been doubled in size and boasts bright pink altro walls. One guest described the experience as “pure theatre”.

The owners are now looking forward to a busy Christmas, some party nights are now fully booked but there are still some spaces, and various special events planned all through November and December, which culminates in their New Years extravaganza.
