    The Sleep Event is the UK’s premier event for the high-end hotel design industry, comprising an exhibition of over 150 key suppliers, a top-level conference featuring leading experts and a highly acclaimed awards ceremony celebrating the best of hotel design from the last 12 months.Beginning on 23rd November with the European Hotel Design Awards, key projects to have been completed in the last 12 months, including The Savoy, London; Mandarin Oriental, Barcelona and The Romanos, Costa Navarino, will all be celebrated with the winners of 14 categories being announced on the night. Categories include Newbuild, Conversion of an Existing Hotel Building and Conversion of an Existing Building to Hotel Use. The awards will welcome some of the key players from the hotel industry, including Olga Polizzi, who will be present to accept this year’s Outstanding Contribution award. The European Hotel Design Awards take place at The Lancaster, London.

    The following day The Sleep Event Exhibition and Conference kicks off at the Business Design Centre, Islington. Coach House, Gloster Furniture, Grohe, MKV Design, Roman, Silent Night and Vitra are among the companies exhibiting. Sleepotel, a live hotel environment, will be created by leading interior designers and architects with a bespoke bar, bedrooms, spa and bathrooms all coming together exclusively for the event. Elsewhere at the show, the new Innovation Zone will celebrate the industry’s most exciting products with the Product Innovation Awards. The eventual winner, judged by a panel of experts, will be announced at the event.

    Running alongside the exhibition is The Sleep Event Conference. This year, it will focus on some of the most exciting European hotel projects to be recently completed, gathering the key decision makers to form one-off panel sessions discussing each hotel. Highlights include Neil L Worrell of Hilton Worldwide and Peter Joehnk of JOI Design Interior Architects revealing the thought behind their new eye-catching project, The Squaire/ Hilton & Hilton Garden Inn Frankfurt.

    A must-attend session will see Andrew Sangster speak with those involved with the ambitious £100 million restoration project of the Savoy Hotel, London, including Design Principle Pierre Yves Rochan.

    As well as budget and luxury hotels, the conference will also look at a key boutique brand with representatives from Swire Hotels, Make Architects and Rider Levett Bucknall.
