With Pierre Yves Rochon overseeing the refurbishment of this intimate 10-room property guests are assured a truly beautiful and very special experience. A privately owned, listed 17th century home, Villa Clarisse is undergoing a meticulous transformation into a truly charming hotel under the expert eye of Pierre Yves Rochon, who has helped to create some of the most fabulous and famous hotels around the world. Housing just 9 rooms and suites Villa Clarisse will exude a light and airy ambience. All of the guest rooms will be very spacious, offering a minimum of 30 square meters, and all will feature an original, working fireplace and dreamy views over Saint Martin.
With tranquil gardens at the rear of the property, guests at Villa Clarisse will be able to relax beside a heated open air 60 x 70 square metre swimming pool (open all year round) or enjoy a hammam. For more serious pampering there will be a boutique spa with two lovely treatment rooms set within the hotel’s gardens.
The lobby at Villa Clarisse will house a tea hall where guests can enjoy a refreshing pot of Earl Grey or a more exotic infusion and a range of delicious patisseries. Villa Clarisse will also serve breakfast and guests will be able to use La Table d’Olivia, the restaurant at Hôtel de Toiras which is just a short walk away.
Surrounded by fortifications built by Vauban in the 17th century and perfectly preserved to this day, Saint Martin de Ré is the historical capital of Île de Ré, a tiny sliver of land stretching out into the Atlantic Ocean for 30km from La Rochelle.
