Roman, a leading UK shower manufacturer, has been supporting and getting involved with a local charity, by sponsoring one of their key annual fundraising events – the County Durham Community Foundation’s (CDCF) Women’s Lunch.Roman has worked with the CDCF for many years and has their own community fund set up through the charity which is used to support different causes across the community.
This was taken one step further with Roman opting to also act as a sponsor for the charity’s annual Women’s Lunch Event. The lunch raised a total of £3,000 in funds which will go towards the charity’s core costs, helping them to be able to continue to support community and voluntary groups across County Durham and Darlington.
The Community Foundation manages charitable funds donated by local individuals, families, businesses and trusts, building up a source of long-term support for the community and acting as the vital link between donors and local needs.
Roman also donated a luxury bathroom hamper as a raffle prize to further support the day.
David Osborne, Managing Director and head of Roman’s Charity Committee, commented: “The County Durham Community Foundation is a great scheme – it allows us to allocate funds to local community groups of all different types. Without this scheme these groups may struggle to survive. The Women’s Lunch is a vital event in the charity’s calendar as it helps to raise funds to keep the foundation running.”
