Premier Inn has begun building its first hotel in Abu Dhabi – its fourth hotel in the United Arab Emirates. This expansion comes as research suggests that three in five business travellers in the UAE expect their travel budgets to increase this year.

The new hotel is being developed at a location within ADNEC’s Capital Centre – a mixed-use development of 23 residential, commercial and mixed-use towers adjacent to the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre – with an investment of AED120m.

It will open in September 2011 with 242 rooms.

Premier Inn Middle East, managing director, Darroch Crawford said: “We are delighted to be expanding into Abu Dhabi and have secured a prime plot in Capital Centre. Capital Centre’s excellent infrastructure and proximity to Abu Dhabi’s superb new events facility makes it an ideal location for Premier Inn.”

All rooms in the new hotel feature en-suite bathroom and can accommodate a family of four.

The hotel will also offer a contemporary restaurant (Bedouinns), a bar (The Retreat), and a Costa Coffee outlet. A sundeck will feature a swimming pool and whirlpool spa.

Premier Inn already has three other hotels in the UAE, at Dubai Investments Park, Dubai Silicon Oasis and Dubai International Airport.
