Sol Meliá continues to make progress with its growth strategy aided by emerging market opportunities and has just announced the signature of what will become its sixth hotel in Valencia: the ex ‘Hilton Valencia’, an ultra-modern hotel with 304 rooms located in the tallest building in the city and now to be rebranded as a Meliá Hotel and scheduled to open on February 21. The new owners of the hotel previously managed by the American company Hilton, the Continental Property Investment fund, has decided to lease the hotel for a minimum of 10 years to Sol Meliá, aiming to introduce greater management efficiency and service excellence in this magnificent hotel while also making the hotel more competitive and providing greater continuity. The hotel has been closed since June 2010 due to the problems suffered by the previous hotel owners.

The new Meliá Valencia Palacio de Congresos has 269 rooms in different categories, 2 presidential suites and 33 suites, and will be totally adapted to the Meliá brand standards and attributes. The hotel also provides a large congress centre which measures almost 2,000 square metres, with 18 event rooms, as well as two restaurants, a Spa, a swimming pool and gym, plus an “Executive Lounge” on the 26th floor which will be converted into the exclusive “The Level”. The hotel also has some of the finest terraces in the city, both on the 1st and 30th floors with panoramic views of the city.

The hotel received excellent reviews on major internet travel portals until its closure and has a privileged location in the fastest growing district in the city, right on the Avenida de las Cortes Valencianas, opposite the Congress Centre and the future Mestalla soccer stadium, just 10 minutes from the city centre. Under Sol Meliá management and the Meliá brand flag, the hotel is destined to become a flagship property for business and leisure travellers and a hub for social life and after work events in Valencia.
