New resort to open is to be Egypt’s biggest

    Sahl Hasheesh International Resort is to become the biggest resort in Egypt when it is completed within the next 18 months, at a size of 10,000 acres.The resort is to feature 5,800 hotel rooms, as well as a gold course, convenience stalls, restaurants and apartment buildings. The location is situated 18 kilometres from Hurghada International Airport, adjacent to the Red Sea.

    Hotels within the resort that have already opened include Pyramisa Hotel, Palm Beach, Premier Le Reve and Old Palace, which is currently being renovated and changed into a Marriott branded hotel. Hotels under development include Lana Hills, Little Buddha, Ocean Breeze and lots more.

    Infrastructure and civil works in the resort are expected to cost EGP 220m. The development will be so large that it will even feature a university.

    Land within Sahl Hasheesh is being developed by Egyptian Resorts Company, with each plot of a different size and configuration being offered to third party sub-developers. Numerous sub-developers are involved in the project, including El Sharkia for Hotels, Prime Estates International and Carols Bridge.
