The emblematic Majorca hotel has reinvented itself in 2011 as an “adults only” hotel exclusively for people over the age of 15, providing guests with a very different and more intimate experience in an environment guaranteed to be more serene. At the same time, the Meliá de Mar Hotel has also added new services and facilities as well as more personalised customer services designed to meet the needs and preferences of a more adult clientele. The transformation has seen all of the hotel rooms equipped with a Nespresso coffee machine, an iPod docking station, wireless phone and other devices available on request such as eBooks or iPads. The Level rooms, the most exclusive of the rooms offered by the Meliá brand, also provide extra benefits such as private check-in in the room, free access to the YHI Spa, free bar and snacks in the private lounge or Balinese beds in the private chill-out pool area.

New dining options include the new à la carte Q4 restaurant, serving a surprising combination of Spanish and Japanese cuisine; an exquisite selection of cocktails in the Gabi Bar & Q Lounge, and weekly tastings of delicatessen products. Meliá de Mar also proposes special relaxation moments for adults such as the “Jacuzzi Experience” or “Spa Night”: a choreographed massage overlooking the sea and by the light of the moon. During the summer months the festive atmosphere on the island will infuse the evenings at the Meliá de Mar, including the traditional San Juan Night festivities and a magical and mystical event on the beach.

    Seeking innovation and personalisation
The new “adults only” concept is a further sign of the Sol Meliá commitment to the differentiation of its brands and diversification of its products and services to satisfy the different needs of different types of guests, innovating in the design of its brand attributes and providing more exclusive and personalised vacation experiences which ensure they meet the expectations of their guests in a highly competitive environment.
