Hyatt Hotels and Resorts and OTO Development, LLC, will open the Hyatt Place Fort Lauderdale Airport-South as the first phase of the Hyatt Place and Hyatt Summerfield Suites development. The hotel is scheduled to open in early March in Florida, US and will offer 149 guestrooms, each with 42-inch HDTV and a sectional sofa-sleeper.

Within the building there will be complimentary Wi-Fi access and each morning there will be an included breakfast of fruit, cereal, yoghurt, breads, juice and coffee. The hotel also features more than 500sqm of meeting space.

Each room has an ergonomic work centre and a media centre that allows guests to plug in all their technologies.

The hotel is situated 2.5 miles from Hollywood International Airport and three miles from the Port Everglades Cruise Terminal.

OTO Development, LLC, CEO and president, Corry Oakes said: “Annually, more than 20 million passengers are already flying through Hollywood International Airport and nearly four million cruise passengers are utilising Port Everglades. When you factor the airport’s US$1.2b expansion and that two of the world’s biggest cruise ships will dock in Port Everglades in 2010, Hyatt Place, and soon Hyatt Summerfield Suites, can offer the kind of amenities that today’s business and leisure travelers want.”
