Burton Upon Trent’s Three Queens Hotel (UK) is involved in a £1m expansion after submitting planning permission for the development of the two adjoining buildings, Trent House and Trent Terrace. This will result in a 24 ‘Lodge Style’ bedroom addition to the original 38 bedroom hotel and a total investment of £3m to date.Every room will be triple-glazed and fully air-conditioned, and will be focused on energy efficiency designs with LED lighting and a sophisticated energy management system.

Guests in the Lodge will use the facilities of the Three Queens Hotel, checking in at the hotel reception before taking the short walk along a covered walkway to the new complex.

As the artist external plans show, the buildings form part of the Bridge Street Conservation area and the hotel will be paying attention to the historic nature of the buildings as we turn this area into a key gateway to the town.

RTR Design have been charged with the design of the Lodge.

It is expected that building work will commence on April 1, 2010 and the rooms will be available for occupation by the Autumn.
