Travelodge opens second hotel in Harrogate and announces UK-wide expansion plans

    The official opening of the 70-room Harrogate West Park Travelodge took place today, 4th September 2015, and was attended by Travelodge’s Chief Operating Officer, Jon Hendry Pickup; The Worshipful, The Mayor of Harrogate Borough; Councillor Nigel Simms and Brian L Dunsby, Chief Executive, Harrogate Chamber of Trade & Commerce.

    The Harrogate West Park Travelodge features an onsite Bar Café and is located within close proximity to Harrogate Conference Centre.

    Also announced at the ceremony is the news that Travelodge will expand their portfolio in Yorkshire with 13 new properties representing an investment of £80million and creating 300 new jobs across Yorkshire. Locations for the new sites include: Barnsley, Bradford, Brig House, Bridlington, Halifax, Headingly, Huddersfield, Hull, Knaresborough, Wetherby, Whitby and two sites in York.

    Brian L Dunsby, Chief Executive, Harrogate Chamber of Trade & Commerce said: “Harrogate’s economy depends largely on visitors, both business and leisure and therefore we welcome this new Travelodge right in the heart of the town centre.”
