To meet Beijing’s growing demand for meetings and event spaces, The Opposite House has unveiled its stylish new facilities called “Bei Space”, located in the lower grounds of the hotel.Designed by Neri&Hu, the main event space has been carefully separated from its service areas and outside terrace areas with transparent walls of custom-made glass bricks which allows natural light to flow into the subterranean space. Overhead, a field of pendant lights illuminates the main space while leaving it open and flexible.
Equipped with a moveable projector, overhead screens and a state-of-the-art sound system, the 180m2 versatile space can be easily adapted for any requirement, making this the perfect environment to host meetings, conferences, corporate training, press conferences, cocktail parties or banquets.
Bei Space also offers a full catering service via onsite restaurants at The Opposite House, with a choice of Western fare from Sureño or Chinese delicacies from Jing Yaa Tang. For events requiring multiple spaces, catering from both restaurants can also be requested for The Red Space, situated next to the hotel.
“As the vibrant arts, culture and commercial scene in Sanlitun continues to thrive, our aim is to enhance it with an event venue that exudes understated sophistication on its own, yet can serve as the canvas for highly personalised or creative executions. Events of a fashionable, creative or corporate tone can all find a home at Bei Space,” comments Peter Wynne, Area General Manager of Swire Hotels Beijing and General Manager of The Opposite House.
