HBA Los Angeles has announced the appointment of Gianpiero Gaglione as Principal.

A respected designer and creative leader with more than 20 years of international experience, Gaglione brings expertise across luxury hospitality, branded residences, restaurants, and mixed-use developments. His appointment further strengthens HBA Los Angeles’ creative capabilities and positions the studio for continued growth.

Gaglione joins HBA Los Angeles following more than six years of running his eponymous design practice, where he led a portfolio of hospitality and high-end residential projects defined by tailored interiors, rich materiality, and quiet confidence. His recent collaborations include projects with MGM Resorts, IHG Hotels & Resorts, and Dreamscape Companies. He previously held senior design roles at Kelly Wearstler, Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, and HBA Singapore.

“At HBA Los Angeles, we are committed to investing in the next generation of design leadership while building upon the collaborative culture and design excellence that have long defined our studio,” said HBA Los Angeles Partner Kathleen Dauber. “Gianpiero is the right leader to help shape our next chapter. The combination of his creative vision, international experience, and proven leadership makes him exceptionally well-suited to balance creative ambition with the needs of clients and the complexity of hospitality projects.”

Throughout his career, Gaglione has contributed to some of the hospitality industry’s most celebrated properties across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. His distinguished portfolio includes Santa Monica Proper, Downtown Los Angeles Proper, The Beekman and The Fifth Avenue Hotel in New York, Soho Beach House in Miami Beach, and Rosewood Miramar Beach in Montecito, Calif. Drawing upon his multidisciplinary background in concept development, interior architecture, FF&E design, and project management, Gaglione creates spaces that emphasize craftsmanship, distinctive character, and a strong sense of place.

“HBA has an extraordinary legacy in hospitality design, and I’m excited to join the Los Angeles studio at such an important time in its evolution,” said Gaglione. “I’ve always believed the most compelling interiors are those that feel authentic, personal, and enduring rather than driven by trends. I look forward to collaborating with the talented team, bringing new ideas to the design process, and creating environments that are both memorable for guests and meaningful for our clients.”

In his new role, Gaglione will help guide the studio’s creative vision, oversee design projects, and mentor emerging talent while strengthening client relationships.
