Finn Lough’s story began in the 1980s with just two holiday cottages and a marina. In 2013, the second generation of the Beare family reimagined the property, transforming it into the Finn Lough of today. Now, brother and sister Gillian and Michael Beare stand at its helm.

“When we returned to our roots in 2013, we brought with us a dedication to preserving our childhood home and the special place our parents had so carefully nurtured.”

From this came the idea of being ‘Wildly Refined’ a style of hospitality shaped by nature rather than imposed upon it. It has remained the guiding message behind Finn Lough’s evolution, influencing every new chapter while staying true to the land and its origins.

The property offers 18 Bubble Domes, 24 Lakeside Villas, six Suites and three Riverside Cabins, each carefully positioned to offer a different way of experiencing the landscape.

The iconic Bubble Domes invite guests to sleep beneath the stars within ancient woodland, while the Lakeside Villas are ideal for longer stays and groups, with generous living spaces overlooking Lough Erne. Tucked beside the river, the Riverside Cabins offer a more secluded escape, complete with outdoor baths that frame the surrounding landscape, while the Suites combine comfort with direct access to the heart of the property.

Across every stay, the design remains quietly consistent. Natural materials including wood and stone are paired with reclaimed and upcycled pieces that add warmth and character. Antique chairs collected by the Beare family over generations can be found throughout the property, reflecting Finn Lough’s deeply personal story and its philosophy of continually refining rather than replacing.

Despite the variety, all rooms allow the landscape to remain the focal point. Whether waking to birdsong in the forest, watching the mist roll across the lough or soaking in a riverside bath, every stay is designed to immerse guests in nature while offering the comfort and privacy to slow down completely.

At the heart of Finn Lough sits the original Beare family home, now reimagined as Lasair Restaurant and its surrounding gathering spaces. Ingredients are grown, foraged and sourced locally, bringing the flavours of Fermanagh to the table through a close network of trusted producers. Young Buck cheese from Mike’s Fancy Cheese in Belfast sits alongside farmhouse cheeses from Corleggy, fish landed in Killybegs, butchery from Belleek, and seasonal produce harvested from the on-site kitchen garden and nearby village market. Created in collaboration with Michelin-starred chef Neven Maguire and led by Head Chef Kristin Reagon, the menus balance refinement with familiarity, giving equal care to vegetarian and vegan dishes.

Seasonality shapes every plate, with guests welcomed in a relaxed spirit, whether arriving for dinner or fresh from a lake swim. By the lakeside, leisurely afternoons unfold over freshly baked cakes and mimosas, while Finn Lough’s kitchen garden – comprising polytunnels, a greenhouse and outdoor beds – sits at the heart of the property’s food philosophy. Driven by quiet experimentation and a commitment to growing beyond expectation, each season brings new discoveries that feed directly into the kitchen.

As evening falls, The House Bar becomes a place to gather after a day spent outdoors. Cocktails draw on botanicals and ingredients foraged from the surrounding landscape, complemented by an extensive selection of Irish and international wines and spirits. Guests can also explore Finn Lough’s wine cellar or join one of its intimate gin, wine or whiskey tastings, each celebrating exceptional producers and craftsmanship. The House Bar is also home to the Vintage Cinema, where classic films, fresh popcorn and a seasonal cocktail provide a relaxed end to the day.

At the heart of the retreat is the award-winning Elements Trail Spa, an experience-led wellness journey that invites guests to move through five immersive spaces at their own pace. Rather than sharing facilities with others, each stage of the trail is exclusively yours, creating a deeply personal and restorative experience.

The journey begins with a buoyant salt float experience before moving through a lakeside sauna and invigorating cold plunge in Lough Erne. Guests then continue to an aromatic sauna, unwind in an outdoor hot tub surrounded by woodland, and finish in a peaceful relaxation room overlooking the landscape. Guided by the contrast of heat, cold, water and stillness, the trail encourages guests to slow down, reset and reconnect with nature. The Elements Trail Spa is also open to day visitors seeking a moment of restoration and escape.

Alongside the Elements Trail, the Shoreline Spa offers a simpler but equally memorable ritual. Set on the edge of the lough, it pairs wood-fired saunas with invigorating lake swims, making it the perfect place to greet the morning or end a day outdoors.
