New hotel openings – August 2026

From the gilded palazzos of Venice to the sun-drenched shores of Paros and the creative centre of Paris, these latest hotel openings are united by a desire to belong to their surroundings. The Danieli, Venezia,brings us a storied revival while Amanvari takes on an architectural interpretation of the Baja California Sur coastline; Villa Dorothéa’ gives us a window onto a more intimate Lisbon lifestyle, and continuing the theme, Local 101 Beaurepaire invites guests to experience Paris through the eyes of the neighbourhood, and further afield, 1 Hotel Austin brings a biophilic sensibility to Texas. Whether through painstaking restoration, locally rooted design or architecture that responds directly to the landscape, each one of these properties are offering guests so much more than simply somewhere to stay.

Danieli, Venezia, A Four Seasons Hotel

Following an extensive restoration led Pierre-Yves Rochon, this iconic Venetian landmark has reopened as Danieli, Venezia, A Four Seasons Hotel – the hotel will expand further in 2027 as the restoration of Palazzo Danieli Excelsior is completed.

Pierre-Yves Rochon’s vision interprets Venice’s identity through a careful balance of history, light and materials. The interiors feature a colour palette inspired by the Venetian Lagoon, including celadon greens, soft blues, terracotta, ochre and powder pink, echoing the city’s marble façades, historic plasterwork and architecture. The first experience of this striking palette begins upon stepping into the lobby of Palazzo Dandolo, where the eye is immediately drawn to the ceiling with its fully restored, hand-painted gilding tracing a quatrefoil pattern against an azure blue that mirrors the lagoon outside. Throughout the majestic space the columns, stonework, and grand staircase have also been meticulously restored by skilled artisans.

Set in a prime position on the Riva degli Schiavoni, the Danieli, Venezia, A Four Seasons Hotel offers stunning views of San Giorgio Maggiore from its rooftop terrace, while many of its rooms reveal the Lagoon in true theatrical fashion, with curtains parting like those of a grand theatre to unveil the view beyond.

Amanvaari

True to Aman’s philosophy of creating destinations that seamlessly integrate into their surrounds, Amanvari, meaning ‘peace’ and ‘water’ in Sanskrit, has been designed as an architectural response to a dramatic environment where desert horizons, estuary channels and the deep blues of the Sea of Cortez shape every experience.

Designed by Elastic, and set in the exclusive Costa Palmas community, the 18-Casita sanctuary and its limited collection of Aman-branded residences will bring privacy, peace and intuitive service, hallmarks of Aman, to this remarkable stretch of coastline for the very first time. The design is conceived as a composition of discreet structures that respond to the contours of the land, simultaneously grounding and elevating guests as they move through the property. Either immersed in the peaceful palm grove, oriented towards sweeping views of the Sea of Cortez or with direct access to the sand, each 82-square-metre Casita is designed with expansive terraces, a private heated pool, outdoor shower and areas for lounging and sleeping that change with Baja’s shifting light throughout the day.

Villa Dorothéa

Hidden behind discreet façades between Lapa, Santos, and the Tagus River, Villa Dorothéa – a unique new boutique hotel in Lisbon’s Lapa district, occupying a beautifully restored 19th century hamlet – has recently opened its doors to the city.

Set across five interconnected houses, the new 20-room residence, designed by LACASTA Interior Design Studio, in partnership with stylist Carla Kottmann, unfolds through cobbled pathways, quiet courtyards, and terraces scented with jasmine and bougainvillea, inviting guests to settle naturally into the pace and rituals of local life. At the centre of Villa Dorothéa sits The Secret, the property’s intimate 25 seat gastrobar extending between a hidden patio and rooftop terrace, a rare feature in this part of Lisbon.

Four Seasons Hotel Mykonos

Four Seasons Hotel Mykonos has opened for its inaugural summer season. Set above Kalo Livadi Bay, the hotel features contemporary design, a private beach, dining with sea views and immersive island experiences. Designed by acclaimed Greek architect Nicos Valsamakis, the hotel’s cliffside location unfolds over six hectares in the style of a Mykonian village, all framed with panoramic views of the Aegean Sea.

The property, with interiors designed by Wimberly Interiors, shelters a selection of 94 rooms, suites and villas with plunge pools, offering guests the ability to experience a chic beach getaway with locally inspired elements like the island’s signature whitewashed exteriors and minimalist design. In addition,  the spa features seven treatment rooms, outdoor spa pavilion and a thermal circuit that includes a sauna, steam room and vitality pool. Guests can continue their wellness journey at the 24-hour Fitness Centre, which includes an outdoor spinning studio and a sea-view Fitness Pavilion for yoga or stretching. Personal trainers are also available for customised routines.

Luura Paros

Luura, a new Mediterranean hospitality brand, has opened its inaugural hotel on the island of Paros. The adults-only seafront property features 39 spacious suites with extensive outdoor space, including 19 with private pools, alongside a private chapel, two restaurants, an extensive wellness area and an event space for weddings and exclusive buyouts.

Rooted in culture, craftsmanship, and a strong sense of place, Luura reflects a multigenerational curation. Each Luura property will respond to its surroundings, with its debut in Paros reflecting the island’s layered culture, artistic legacy and contemporary rhythm. Representing a bold new chapter in contemporary Greek hospitality and the beginning of the brand’s Mediterranean expansion, future properties are planned for Paros, Athens and beyond. Luura joins Morgans Originals, Ennismore’s collection of one-of-a-kind independent hotels, marking the group’s launch in Greece.

1 Hotel Austin is set at the meeting point of Waller Creek and Lady Bird Lake and anchors the 74-story Waterline, the tallest tower in the state. Developed by Lincoln Property Company and Kairoi Residential, the extraordinary mixed-use development reconnects the city to its natural waterways and transforms a previously neglected area into a thriving corridor.

Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF) designed the building, with HKS Architects serving as architect of record. The hotel’s interiors have been meticulously crafted by Studio MAI in collaboration with Starwood Hotels design team, while the immersive landscape architecture curated by TBG Partners ties the building to its setting along Waller Creek through native plantings and a series of green spaces.

Drawing inspiration from modern Hill Country ranches and traditional Texas river houses, 1 Hotel Austin interprets these references through a contemporary, biophilic lens. Natural materials, layered textures, and indoor-outdoor transitions shape the design, reflecting Austin’s connection to its landscape.

Local 101 Beaurepaire

Local 101 Beaurepaire is a 40-room boutique hotel in Paris’ 10th arrondissement. From its location just off Place de la République, guests can walk to the cafés, galleries, boutiques, and bars that give the 10th its character, wander along Canal Saint-Martin, and settle into the rhythm of the neighbourhood, rather than spending their trip moving from one major sight to the next.

That sense of place extends throughout the hotel, where French artists soundtrack the lobby, Parisian photography and books line the shelves, and commissioned works by a local photographer and French neon artist add a distinctly Parisian character. Even the in-room experience is rooted in the neighborhood, with products from Frédéric Malle and baked goods from local bakery Sain. It’s intentionally designed to feel like the kind of place travellers would find themselves returning to if they actually lived nearby.

In a city with no shortage of hotels, Local 101 Beaurepaire offers something different: the chance to borrow a Parisian life for a few days. The local perspective is also built into the team as they intentionally hire locals, allowing guests to turn to any staff member for recommendations tailored to what they’re looking for. The idea is less about handing guests a standard list of recommendations and more about connecting them with the Paris that locals know.
