Accelerating growth in Latin America, W Hotels Worldwide has recently announced plans to open the second W Hotel in Mexico City, to be located within the bustling Santa Fe business district. Managed under an agreement between Starwood Hotels & Resorts, ALHEL and GIM Desarrollos, W Santa Fe will overlook one of the area’s most stunning evergreen valleys, with spectacular views of the Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl volcanoes. Slated to open in 2014, W Santa Fe will be part of a new build, mixed-use development, called Liberty Plaza, designed by Richard Meier, Edmonds International and Krause Sawye.

Interiors of W Sante Fe are being designed jointly by Mexico-based Edmonds International and New York-based KrauseSawyer. A dramatic staircase will be a sculptural centerpiece of the hotel’s multi-story Living Room (W’s take on the traditional hotel lobby), and the hotel will feature 132 stylish guestrooms with spectacular city views; several destination bar and restaurant options, including W’s signature Living Room bar and café; WET pool deck with outdoor bar; 4,000 square foot Away Spa, with nine treatment rooms; SWEAT(R), state-of-the-art fitness facility, and 7,800 square feet of meeting and event space, including a 3,000 square feet Great Room.

Situated less than 20 minutes from Toluca airport, W Santa Fe will be within walking distance of the BBVA Bancomer Convention Center and conveniently located near Sante Fe’s numerous restaurants, stylish shopping and dynamic entertainment facilities.
