The extension to the Majestic Barrière hotel in Cannes, France, opened on March 15, after construction work totalling 72m Euros was completed. The five star hotel, situated on the Côte d’Azur, now features 44 new suites and two penthouses, which are next to the water’s edge.
The new extension is 10,000sqm and the new suites and penthouses have joined the 305 existing rooms and suites, all entirely revamped two years ago.
Situated on the 6th and 7th floors, facing the sea, the two penthouse suites – the Christian Dior Suite and Majestic Suite – offer almost 450sqm each and can be connected to form a single apartment of 900sqm.
The Majestic Suite also benefits from a solarium terrace of 150sqm with a swimming pool 11m long. Entirely decorated by Pascal Desprez, the renowned interior designer who has worked with the Lucien Barrière Group for many years, this suite is a subtle blend of luxury and casualness. Brown wood is set off by light, acidulous colours in an effort to recall the spirit, both refined and modern, of the world of yachting.
As for the Christian Dior Suite, it has been entirely designed in the style of 30 Avenue Montaigne. The Majestic Barrière has worked in close collaboration with the Parisian couture house to enable Nathalie Ryan to make this suite the purest possible evocation of French-style luxury.
The hotel now also features two new salons and a boardroom, which is 350sqm in size. There is also a new foyer, 220sqm in size to accommodate breakfasts and cocktail buffets. It was designed by Pascal Desprez.
There are also two new restaurants due to open on April 1, along with a new spa.
