Renaissance Hotels Set to Expand Global Footprint

Making its debut in world class destinations including Santiago, Chile, and the south of France, Renaissance Hotels has announced that it is on track to open nine hotels in 2014. With six hotels launched and three additional locations on schedule to open, the portfolio will include 162 hotels in 37 countries by year end. The range of new experiences varies from a stylish urban retreat to a boutique escape in the south of France, demonstrating the breadth of the brand’s offerings.A sophisticated hotel brand designed to encourage today’s modern business traveller to Live Life to DiscoverSM, the new locations will offer a memorable guest experience woven through design, service and exclusive amenities. Each new hotel will also offer Renaissance Hotels’ signature programming, including Navigator and LIVE at Renaissance, especially developed to help make every business trip an opportunity to discover. In keeping with the Renaissance Hotel design inspiration, the style, interior design and décor of every hotel will be inspired by the unique locale.

In the first half of this year, Renaissance Hotels has introduced the following new hotels to its portfolio, including:

Renaissance Aix-en-Provence Hotel (France): Opened in January in the heart of Provence, this new 133-room boutique five-star hotel features contemporary design with a stunning Provençal garden and more than 400 paintings and sculptures generated exclusively for the hotel. Chef Jean-Marc Banzo offers an intimate culinary experience at the hotel’s signature Mediterranean restaurant, Le Clos, as well as more traditional fare at Le Comptior du Clos where guests may enjoy the sun drenched terrace offering stunning views of Provence.

Renaissance Paris Hippodrome de St. Cloud Hotel (France): Opening this month and located a stone’s throw from Porte Maillot Parisian Congress Center and next to the exclusive Paris Country Club, this sophisticated new hotel features Anglo-Norman architecture complemented by modern and sophisticated décor and inspired by the Feng-Shui philosophy, designed by world famous architect Jean-Philippe Nuel. The newest addition to the Renaissance Hotels portfolio in Paris also features an elegant outdoor terrace and garden space for cocktails, celebrations and informal gatherings.

Renaissance Denver Downtown City Center (U.S.): Opened in May, the 230-room hotel provides a uniquely modern experience in one of the city’s most historic buildings. Taking over the Colorado National Bank building, one of Denver’s most iconic structures and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, celebrated Allen Tupper True murals add to the hotel’s stunning décor along with specially-curated and locally inspired original artwork. Range, an original concept restaurant and bar, will feature locally-purveyed cuisine inspired by the Rocky Mountain West. This urban landmark hotel will celebrate its official grand opening on June 26th as part of Renaissance Hotels Day of Discovery with a special appearance by DJ Cassidy.

Renaissance Santiago Hotel (Chile): Welcoming guests since early April, the new Renaissance Hotel Santiago marks the brand’s third hotel to open in South America. The new property establishes a bold presence in the upscale neighborhood of Vitacura, surrounded by stylish boutiques and some of Santiago’s finest restaurants. The interior design is centered by an open plan building filled with a series of spaces where the guests are inspired to discover around every corner. Renowned chef Mariano Cid de la Paz serves as executive chef of the hotel’s signature restaurant, Catae. In addition the hotel features several additional dining and entertainment venues include D-bar & Lounge, offering specialty cocktails, local beers and a large selection of Chilean wines and Kaitek Cafe Bar which includes a menu of 29 coffees and an exclusive tea list. This hotel will also celebrate its official opening with an exclusive event in honor of Renaissance Hotels Day of Discovery on June 26th.

Renaissance Edmonton Airport Hotel (Canada): Enter this stylish hotel and find yourself immersed in a vibrant and open lobby space especially designed to host local entertainers and talent from around the globe as part of the hotel’s signature events program. Opened in mid-May and introducing a new generation of airport hotel, the arctic themed property features 213 soundproof and spacious guest rooms, including twelve executive suites and a presidential suite overlooking one of the Edmonton International Airport runways.

Renaissance Hotels also celebrated the opening of the Renaissance Chengdu Hotel in China this past spring. Additional locations are expected to open by year-end in Minsk, Belarus; Cincinnati, Ohio; and Beijing, China.

Fun fact: I’m usually the person friends rely on to organise trips, schedules, and group plans.

Workhighlights: Successfully coordinating events from planning through to delivery and seeing everything come together on the day.

Fun fact: I’m a keen cyclist and will happily bore people with copious amounts of cycling chat. My top cycling experience (so far) would have to be riding in the spectacular mountains of Crete.

Work highlights: Charles joined Forum Events in 2022. With a background in publishing, editorial media and events, Charles brings a wealth of experience to his role as Senior Production Manager. Having being involved with SPACE from the outset, he is excited to see the brand grow and develop.

Fun fact: People tell Sienna she gives off Bridget Jones vibes, and she loves to bake, always making sure there are shortbreads floating around the office

Work highlights: Sienna joined Forum Events & Media Group while studying Communications and Media, starting in the sales team where she managed and helped launch the first the PA Life Leading Venues of London SHOWCASE, where she built relationships with luxury venues across the capital. Drawn to the stories behind these spaces, she naturally transitioned into the editorial team, creating social media and editorial content. Upon graduating in June 2026, she is excited to be joining as Assistant Editor for Hotel Designs and SPACE.

Fun fact: When not working, Jess can usually be found tending to her kitchen garden in the Sussex countryside or foraging for herbs in the nearby woods. A keen grower, she recently studied a RHS Level 2 Diploma in the Principles of Horticulture during her spare time.

Work highlights: Jess joined SPACE magazine in 2022 and has since progressed from Assistant Editor to Editor. During this time, she has worked across many aspects of the publication – from shaping editorial strategy and overseeing operations to contributing to art direction and representing the brand on stage at industry events including Surface Design Show and WOW!house.

Alongside her role at SPACE, Jess has built a creative career spanning the arts, culture, design and travel sectors. Prior to joining the magazine, she spent more than a decade in the commercial art industry, in artist liaison, gallery management, and curating collections for the hospitality sector across hotels and cruise ships. During this time, she also worked on freelance projects as a writer, photographer, and creative content producer.
 
Jess studied photojournalism at London College of Communication and the Danish School of Media and Journalism and holds a first-class BA (Hons) in Culture, Criticism and Curation from Central Saint Martins.

Fun fact: Katy has spent years perfecting all kinds of accents and loves a good impersonation!

Work highlights: Katy has been with Hotel Designs since the beginning, way back in 2015 when Forum Events & Media Group acquired the brand.

During this time, she has fostered many meaningful relationships with clients from across the hospitality spectrum, as well as playing a pivotal role in the launch of The Brit List Awards, Hotel Designs MEET UPs, client-led roundtables and panel talks, brand and website redesigns, HD Wellness Sets, DESIGN POD podcast, Hotel Designs LIVE panel talk series, Accessible Design Talks and more. Katy is always on the lookout for the next opportunity to help grow the Hotel Designs brand even further.
 
Most recently Katy has stepped in to the role of Publisher at SPACE magazine, the printed bi-monthly publication focused on hotel design, architecture, and development.
