Elegant Hotels Group’s west coast Barbados resort Colony Club will unveil its new look on 1 October this year. Already cherished as one of the platinum coast’s finest traditional properties, the planned renovations taking place throughout September will further enhance the tasteful look and feel of the colonial style resort with modern updates throughout. The new concept will focus on relaxation, restoring mind and body, healthy eating, togetherness and minimising impact on the local environment. Muted decor, soft lighting, natural wood and earthy tones will convey the relaxed old-world feel of the property which will be accentuated by splashes of vivid colour for a truly Barbadian vibe.

One of five resorts in the Elegant Hotels Group collection, Colony Club will boast 96 bedrooms and suites all in a contemporary yet sophisticated style which will be in keeping with the natural setting overlooking the sea. There will be new additions to the resort including an organic garden, redesigned Laguna restaurant serving local cuisine and new family offerings.

Laguna Restaurant & Bar
With a vision to create more space for socialising and relaxing, the Laguna Restaurant will become a focal point of the hotel and will be an al fresco environment in which to enjoy the vistas over the landscaped gardens and pool to the turquoise sea. Guests will be able to enjoy the new modern design that continues the original plantation home feel and the centre of the restaurant will be home to the Laguna Bar, which will serve organic teas and freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juices by day and traditional rum punches and house speciality cocktails by night.

Organic Garden
Green fingered enthusiasts will delight in the new feature at Colony Club; the Organic Garden. The natural space will host a variety of fresh produce including herbs, fruits, vegetables and flowers, all of which will be used on the menus and floral displays in the Laguna Restaurant.

Starting in late November, the intimate garden venue will serve as the location for complimentary tours by Colony Club chefs who will harvest seasonal produce for a cookery demonstration for guests in the new Laguna Restaurant enabling aspiring chefs to return home with a new appreciation for the techniques and flavours of Barbadian cuisine armed with tips on how to recreate Colony Club masterpieces.
