While the heaving masses pushed their way through the overheated halls of the Milan Fiera, a kaleidoscope of life and colour was to be found downtown in the Spring sunshine of the ancient courtyards and colonnades of Chiostri dell’Umanitaria.Once again Paola Lenti offered a uniquely uplifting exhibition of sumptuous seating, rugs and accessories for both outside and in. Bold new colours including lemon, peony, silver, aquamarine and ice white were woven together with existing tones in almost endless combinations to extraordinary effects.
Fibres as fine and strong as a spider’s web stretched over sofa frames of the new Teatime lounge seating collection. Designed by Francesco Rota, this delicate framed sofa and armchairs for interior and exterior environments characterises the sophisticated elegance of afternoon tea in the garden.
The translucent screens on the walls and ceilings of the amazing Cabanne structures offset the finely hammered ‘leather’ finish marble and limestone tops of the Heron and Sunset side tables.
2011 truly is the coming of age of this creative young company. The only question now is what can they possibly do in 2012?
