A 63-bedroom Premier Inn hotel and restaurant in Dudley is now open following a 28 week, £3.8m construction on the Castlegate Business Park on behalf of Birmingham developer, Stoford. The funding for the project was provided by Custodian Capital in return for Premier Inn committing to a 20-year lease. The hotel occupies the corner plot at the entrance of the business park and is set to create around 25 new jobs and provide a major boost to the local economy.
John Bates, head of acquisitions UK and Ireland for Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants, said the three-storey hotel, built on land originally owned by the Homes and Communities Agency, would complement other hotels the company was developing across the West Midlands and the Black Country.
“We currently have more than 52,000 Premier Inn bedrooms in the UK and are on track to achieve our target of 75,000 bedrooms by 2018,” he added.
The new hotel is Stoford’s second scheme at Castlegate Business Park where it has now started building a 10,000 sq ft development for the Staffordshire and West Midlands Probation Trust.
