Building on the success of their lounges at Gatwick Airport’s South Terminal and Stansted airport, award-winning airport hospitality specialist No.1 Traveller has launched a ‘super-lounge’ at Gatwick Airport’s North Terminal. Opened during May 2011, ‘No.1 Gatwick’ is located airside and offers a broad and innovative range of facilities for departing and transferring passengers, including:• Lounge, with: a complimentary bistro-style menu, and fully-tended bar, mini-cinema, family room, games rooms and free Wi-Fi throughout the lounge.
Travel Spa, with shower suites and a range of salon and spa services, including: manicure, pedicure, massage, facials and hairdressing.
Business centre, with individual computer stations, email, printing and fax facilities, self-service refreshments and private meeting rooms, which can also be booked separately.

The new No.1 Traveller lounge also offers a wide range of entertainment options including a mini-cinema, a games room, indoor garden and children’s play area. Guests can take advantage of the new Travel Spa* – a first for Gatwick airport – or the stand-alone business centre. Additionally, guests can enjoy a range of complimentary services including foreign currency delivered to the lounge, travel insurance that can be booked online within the lounge or access to a personal shopping service from World Duty Free.

For a fee No.1 Gatwick can be accessed by any passenger departing from the North Terminal, giving travellers an opportunity to ‘upgrade’ their journey ahead of holidays or business meetings. The lounge will be the company’s fourth in the UK, with lounges already operating in Stansted and Gatwick South.

The travel spa has been designed and developed in conjunction with Debi Green, formerly Group Spa Director of The Sanctuary, and will include a range of products from some of the world’s leading beauty therapy brands.

Phil Cameron, Founder and CEO of No.1 Traveller, commented: “We’re delighted to be opening a new, world-class lounge at Gatwick, which will change the pre-flight offer for over seven million passengers. We’re bringing passengers more choice than ever before, so that spending time at the airport can become another memorable part of their journey.”

Robin Longden, Gatwick Airport’s Chief Commercial Officer, said: “At Gatwick, we want our passengers to feel as if their holiday starts right here at the airport and not at the point at which they reach their chosen holiday destination. Our £1billion investment programme is geared towards making the passenger experience more pleasant and enjoyable – providing better, speedier check-in products, shorter queues at security and delivering more modern, spacious departure lounge areas. The new No.1 Traveller lounge in Gatwick’s North Terminal will complement the improvements being delivered across the entire airport.”

*The travel spa will offer services including hairdressing, massage, manicures and showering facilities
