Among the latest recruits to Small Luxury Hotels of the World™ (SLH) are new properties for 2013 and include WestHouse in New York, opening later this year, as well as the first SLH hotel in Bergamo, a private Balinese luxury estate and a Philippine island.WestHouse Hotel New York – Scheduled to open November 2013
Inspired by the beauty and glamour of the 1920s and designed to evoke a private club, WestHouse Hotel will be home to 175 impeccably designed guest rooms including 18 extraordinary suites. The next SLH hotel to open has a superb position on the West Side of Manhattan in the city’s Midtown neighbourhood and ensures easy access to Central Park, Broadway, the designer boutiques in 5th Avenue and the world-renowned MOMA.

Relais San Lorenzo, Bergamo – Opened July 2013
The first SLH property in the Italian city of Bergamo, Relais San Lorenzo is a historical residence that beautifully blends contemporary design with ancient surroundings. The hotel is cleverly entwined with the stones and brickwork of the neighbouring church and its 30 rooms and suites overlook peaceful cloisters offering a sense of history, art and culture. Ancient Roman and medieval walls encase the hotel’s unique gourmet restaurant, Hostaria, serving fine Italian and local produce alongside a bar and terrace.

Ketapang Estate, Bali – under new ownership
Ketapang is a luxury private estate made up of seven individual villas set in sprawling gardens with panoramic views of the ocean, black volcanic beach and surrounding padi fields. Each wooden villa has its own unique charm, some of which are traditional Javanese houses, or ‘joglos’. The estate has an Olympic length infinity pool facing the Indian Ocean, tennis court, spa treatments, a garden theatre for Balinese dance performances and outdoor cinema for movie nights under the stars.

Pangulasian Island Resort, El Nido, Philippines – Opened October 2012. New to SLH portfolio
Pangalusian is the latest island to join Small Luxury Hotels of the World™, located in Bacuit Bay and known as the ‘Island of the Sun’. The resort has 42 individual villas spread across the island on either the white powder beach, on stilts above the forest or with their own private pool. The island’s marine sanctuary make it a diver’s paradise, while those that prefer to stay on land can follow the island’s nature trails to discover the native flora and fauna. There’s also a library, infinity pool with beach bar, Scuba Shack, marine sports centre and Clubhouse restaurant serving fresh, local and sustainable produce.
