Maui’s first Courtyard by Marriott hotel broke ground in Kahului, filling a need for business and leisure travelers wanting to stay near Maui’s central hub. The new Courtyard by Marriott Maui hotel is being built near the intersection of Haleakala Highway and Keolani Place on a 3.35-acre parcel of land. Construction on the $16.5-million project will begin next week, with completion expected in early 2012. Upon opening, the four-story, 138-room hotel will be managed by Marriott International.
The hotel will appeal to both business and leisure travelers, being conveniently located within minutes of the Kahului Airport and offering amenities that include Courtyard by Marriott’s newest interior design, a business center, meeting rooms, pool, and fitness center.
The new Courtyard by Marriott Maui hotel will feature 49 studio kings, 79 studio double queens, six suites, and four extended stay suites. Guest rooms will feature large desks, couches, and complimentary WiFi and broadband Internet access.
In addition to its business center, pool, and fitness center, the hotel will feature a lounge and bar, gazebo, guest laundry, surfboard storage building, and convenience market. The hotel will also offer 1,663 square feet of meeting space, including a boardroom.
The hotel will provide jobs for more than 50 associates when it opens. Other Marriott brands on Maui include The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua; The Ritz-Carlton Club and Residences at Kapalua Bay; Marriott’s Maui Ocean Club at Kaanapali (formerly the Maui Marriott Resort); and the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa.
