Exclusive new waterside penthouses boasting glorious views of Northern England’s largest inland marina will be welcoming their first guests from January 2014. Part of a £3.5million investment in Windermere Marina Village, the newly unveiled properties are nestled in the heart of the Lake District National Park on a quiet inlet just off England’s longest lake. The thirteen individually-styled properties, which suit groups of between two and ten people, are now taking bookings for the New Year. All have spacious, southerly-facing balconies or terraces looking out across the marina. So, as well as enjoying a light airy outlook, guests can watch a unique selection of luxury yachts and sports boats gently glide across the water against an iconic Lakeland backdrop.
The shining star of the new development is an impressive 2,250sq foot penthouse, which comes complete with an additional 1,000sq foot den / games room on the top floor.
To give all the properties added personality, they’ve been carefully styled around three themes: funky’, ‘contemporary’ and ‘traditional’. The décor in each strikes a balance between relaxed luxury and practical home comforts, with plush interiors and the highest quality fixture and fittings – sourced locally wherever possible. Take the sleek kitchen worktops, which are made from Broughton Moor Slate, natural stone laid down in the Lakes 450 million years ago.
That means there are plenty of options to suit couples and small groups, as well as catering for the emerging trend of extended family and groups of friends coming away together.
Each new apartment has its own parking space, and guests can also enjoy complimentary use of the nearby Old England Leisure Club for the ultimate in pampering and relaxation.
Windermere Marina Village has previously invested £3million in modernising its existing 54 lakeside self-catering cottages and apartments to four star standards. Unlike the majority of self-catering properties, the Marina offers the flexibility for guests to choose two night weekend stays, instead of the traditional three. Alternatively they can opt for four-day mid-week breaks or full week getaways.
Holidaymakers don’t have to own a boat to stay or visit the Marina, but with 400 moorings providing a safe and secure environment for motor cruisers and sailing boats all year round, it’s an ideal destination for the nautically-minded. The Marina can accommodate sports boats, leisure cruisers and yachts up to a maximum length of 50 feet and maximum draft of 3’ 6.
