British bed manufacturer, Hypnos has been designing and making bespoke beds for more than 100 years, combining traditional skills with modern production techniques. As part of the company’s evolving hotel collections, Hypnos has launched a new pocket spring mattress, Lansdowne Royale (right) which took centre stage at The Sleep Event 2012. This new innovative design targets specifically luxury boutique hotels, serviced apartments and high-end guest houses, who want to offer guests the very best comfort and a memorable night’s sleep. Hypnos’ specialist Contract Division prides itself on its complete project management solution, with a full design, installation, old bed disposal and recycling service.Offering head-to-toe zonal support, Hypnos’ Lansdowne Royale mattress features a three zoned ReActive™ pocket spring system. Each spring has ten active turns, independently sensing body shape and weight distribution to provide total spinal and body support. Moreover, to help regulate body temperature, Lansdowne Royale is upholstered with naturally soft and breathable layers of British wool, cashmere, hand teased hair, Talalay latex* and eOlus™, a sustainable fibre made from recycled plastic. In addition, the mattress is lined with a luxury silver-infused Belgian damask, offering a fresh and hygienic sleeping surface, making it the perfect choice for hospitality providers.

The Lansdowne Royale mattress was combined with a super storage divan base, with a boutique-style winged back, deep-buttoned Vienna headboard – all covered in Zoffany’s Town and County fabrics. With a five-year guarantee, the Lansdowne Royale mattresses and divans are fully compliant with BS 7177 medium hazard CRIB 5 fire retardancy standards for hotel usage.

Two new sofa beds which are set to be launched in 2013 were also on display – the Winchester and Lichfield – both with pocket spring mattress, covered with Hypnos’ revolutionary ‘Vital Protection’ anti-bed bug fabric. The fabric impregnation treatment is designed to provide long lasting protection against bed bugs for hotel guests. What’s more, it has been independently scientifically proven to effectively repel and instantly kill bed bugs, as well as dust mites and other bacteria.

The treatment can be added to any of Hypnos’ new mattresses ensuring protection before they arrive at the hotel. However, for those hotel owners not wishing to buys new beds, Vital Protection™ can also be used on existing beds, by applying a zipped mattress renovator which encases the whole of the mattress. Vital Protection™ cannot be washed off and is completely invisible and odourless, having no negative impact on the fabric’s fire retardancy properties.

As the first carbon neutral bed maker, using only natural, sustainable and FSC materials, Hypnos also offers a bed disposal and recycling service for old beds – guaranteeing 100% landfill avoidance. The company’s reputation for service excellence and the best of British quality is further reinforced by a Royal Warrant from HM Queen Elizabeth II.
