Holiday Inn hotel unveils multi-million dollar renovation

    Holiday Inn Barrie Hotel & Conference Centre in ONtario, Canada announced today the culmination of a multi-million hotel renovation project. The investment is part of a US$1b brand-wide global revitalization effort to showcase a more contemporary look and feel that will eventually feature new corporate branding and signage.

    The full renovation which began in October 2009 included remodeling the lobby and front entrance, guestrooms, and a fresh new look and feel to the restaurant and lounge area.

    A full renovation to the lobby includes new giant-size floor tiles, upgraded wall vinyl, custom artwork and stylish new furniture in warm earthy tones that compliment an intricate stone wall leading up to the hotel’s main staircase.

    The Holiday Inn Barrie Hotel & Conference Centre’s new guest rooms feature 32” flat screen TV’s, new sofa beds and chairs.

    All guest washrooms received a face-lift of their own with a fresh coat of paint, designer wallpaper and distinctive ceramic tiles. In addition, new curved curtain rods with brand new cloth shower curtains, new sinks and vanities and bath towels were installed.

    Tattinger’s, the hotel’s restaurant and lounge received a complete floor-to-ceiling make-over during renovations with new carpet, wall vinyl, modern light fixtures and new furniture to create a more inviting dining experience.

    The bar area has been repositioned along with the buffet and private dining area for improved functionality and design appeal. A new menu has been introduced for luncheons, private dinners, casual social gatherings and family dinners.

    Holiday Inn Barrie Hotel & Conference Centre, general manager, Donald Buckle said: “This renovation was focused on adding more contemporary furniture, revamping the lobby space to be more welcoming, a new inviting dining room/lounge and upgrading 108 of our guest rooms. Custom lighting fixtures and redesigned accent lighting help create a distinct ambience that reinforces our commitment to a perfect and welcoming guest experience.”
