Grace Hotels, the privately owned luxury boutique hotel group, has recently announced the official opening of the latest addition to its portfolio, Grace Cafayate, a hotel, spa and residential villas development located in the Salta province of north west Argentina. Marking the group’s first hotel opening in Latin America, Grace Cafayate lies high in Argentina’s Calchaquí Valley, famed for its spectacular backdrop of The Andes and for some of the finest wines South America has to offer.Situated on La Estancia de Cafayate, an exclusive golf, equestrian and residential estate, the hotel comprises 52 elegantly appointed rooms and suites within the hotel’s main building and its 20 residential villas. Each villa features two bedrooms with large en-suite bathrooms, dressing room, living room with an integrated kitchen, cellar and fireplace, plus outdoor hot tub, terrace and grill. Villas can be occupied as one-bedroom or two-bedroom suites. The architecture throughout the development draws inspiration from local traditions.

Grace Cafayate offers exquisite gastronomy with flavours, textures, colours and aromas that harmoniously combine the best of international cuisine with characteristic local traditions. Outdoor dining is offered at the Pool Bar & Grill whilst Muse by Jonathan Cartwright sees modern European cuisine pay homage to Argentine culinary traditions, together with carefully selected wines. The menu has been created by Grand Chef Relais & Châteaux Jonathan Cartwright, who has been in charge of the culinary offering across Grace Hotels since 2011. This is the second ‘Muse’ restaurant for the group, following its success at The Vanderbilt Grace in Rhode Island, United States.

Wellbeing and relaxation form an integral part of the guest experience. In addition to the outdoor heated pool there is a spa with five treatment rooms and an innovative wellness menu that calls upon local therapeutic traditions. The heated indoor pool with integrated whirlpool offers views of the mountains and a gym with Life Fitness equipment is ideal for an early morning workout while sunrise illuminates the vineyards and the mountains.

Guests can also enjoy the facilities of La Estancia de Cafayate, including an 18-hole championship golf course designed by Bob Cupp, two polo fields, the Clubhouse and the magnificent Athletic Club & Spa that features an indoor counter-current heated swimming pool, a 300 m² gym, three tennis courts and a squash court. Cycle and hiking trails along the extensive paths around the valley provide an added recreation.
