Skills learned at The Ritz, the 5* Marriott County Hall in London, the Barbican and Hatfield House arrive in Falmouth this month with the news that Nick Rudlin and Sioned Parry-Rudlin have acquired Green Lawns Hotel in a multi-million pound deal.Originally the Mansion House residence of a late 19th century merchant, Green Lawns has operated as an hotel for more than fifty years. The property has 39 bedrooms, a function space for 350, 80-seater restaurant and a 12 metre swimming pool.

The Parry-Rudlins plan to re-brand and entirely re-create the property over the next few years with a re-launch scheduled for early 2013. Current General Manager at the hotel, Neil Slade, will remain at the helm to drive already high service standards.

“The hotel has a spectacular location set in tropical gardens overlooking Falmouth Bay and massive potential,” said Nick Rudlin. “We have a combined 40 years working in some of the most prestigious and challenging hotels and restaurants in the UK – and believe we can bring something new and fresh to this part of the country, that will appeal to local and visitor alike.

“We will be combining big company disciplines and insights with a family and friendly approach to offer spectacular food and accommodation with up-scale standards of service and attention to detail.”

“There are some wonderful hotels in Cornwall and we know that customer expectations around here are sky-high,” added Sioned. “We have commissioned the multi-award winning Helen Hughes, one of the UK’s leading restaurant and hotel designers, to completely overhaul the hotel’s interior with a specific brief to produce something that will amaze and delight our guests. And A-Side Studio who will work on all of our branding.*While personal service will be our focus we want to avoid being just another “boutique-style” seaside hotel.”

With spectacular gardens, a 12-metre pool, jacuzzi and sauna, located in the heart of the Cornish Riviera and just a short walk from the sea, the re-named and re-positioned Green Lawns hotel is expected to become one of the jewels in the crown of the South Coast hotel and dining industry.
