Colliers International has been instructed to sell The Old Brewery House Hotel, one of the town’s best known establishments in Reepham, Norfolk. The hotel, which was operated by Oxford Hotels and Inns has closed this week and Colliers International is now seeking offers in excess of £800,000 for the Grade II listed property, which includes a 23 bedrooms, bar, restaurant, and leisure complex a gym, swimming pool and squash courts. Ashley Clark, Director at Colliers International, said: “We are confident that we will be able to find a new owner to invest in the hotel and realise the great potential of this property. Over the last few years during the difficult economic climate, we have handled many similar cases of hotels which have ceased trading but we have still been able to reach a positive outcome for the previous owners and the local community.”

Colliers has recently handled the sale of the Restover Lodge in Peterborough which went into administration and the Elizabeth Hotels portfolio. In the local Norfolk area, Colliers was also responsible for the sale of two trading hotels, The George in Norwich and George in Swaffham, both of which sold very quickly to the hotel market.

The Old Brewery is a listed Georgian building was built in 1729 and originally named the Dial House because of a large sundial over the front door. In 1972, it was converted into a commercial hotel and renamed The Old Brewery House Hotel in recognition of its previous role as residence of the Bircham family that had run a brewery in Reepham for several generations, and because one of the hotel’s principal rooms used to be the brewery.
