Ascend Hotel Collection from Choice Hotels International, Inc., one of the world’s largest hotel companies, adds Downtown Grand Las Vegas to its impressive list of upscale hotels. On October 27, a small group of guests wined, dined and gambled at the new hotel and casino. Las Vegas casino mogul Steve Wynn and his wife Andrea showed their support by placing the first bets. On November 12, 2013, the hotel’s two towers and casino hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Mayor of Las Vegas and other local dignitaries, and on November 16, local residents and visitors continued the celebration with a street party “Downtown 3rd presents: Rock the Block” which included five diverse musical acts on 3rd street and inside the hotel.

This 634-room hotel is the largest member in the Ascend Hotel Collection, a network of one-of-a-kind upscale properties. Each Ascend hotel is a unique reflection of the distinct character of its host city, yet all offer the same high standards of hospitality and comfort. Downtown Grand Las Vegas Hotel and Casino does all that and more.

The guest rooms at Downtown Grand Las Vegas set an entirely new standard. All five room types – Deluxe, Premium, One-Bedroom Suite, City Suite and Grand Suite – offer spacious accommodations, high-definition flat screen televisions, presidential pillow top mattresses, luxurious bed linens, plush lounge chairs and stylish custom furnishings.

Should guests feel the need to wind up for a big day or wind down from a busy night, Downtown Grand Las Vegas has the perfect place for everyone, from the barfly to the cocktail connoisseur. At Art Bar, the staff invites guests to stay a little longer and enjoy craft drinks and light eats while exploring mini-art exhibits and collections from local artists. MOB Bar allows guests to enjoy a modern-day speakeasy featuring handcrafted cocktails and live music, while Ninth Island lets them embrace their inner child with a convenient indoor/outdoor counter serving authentic Hawaiian shave ice or grown-up daiquiris. Furnace, Downtown Grand Las Vegas’ casino bar, is perfect for guests who want to see and be seen in the center of the action.

Unlike the majority of Las Vegas hotels, Downtown Grand offers a wide variety of small, intimate dining options. Guests are sure to please their palate at one of many comfortable dining options including such notables as, Stewart + Ogden diner bistro, a three-meal restaurant featuring a menu designed by award-winning restaurateurs Elizabeth Blau and Kim Canteenwalla, Red Mansion Chinese Restaurant and Triple George Grill, an award-winning San Francisco-style steakhouse. For business travelers and special occasions, Downtown Grand Las Vegas also offers 2,500 square feet of indoor meeting space and 35,000 square feet of space at PICNIC, the urban rooftop pool retreat, to host perfectly executed corporate meetings, dazzling events and memorable weddings.
