HotelDesigns recently wrote a piece on fashion hotels and since it was published an Armani hotel in Dubai has opened, fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg has been employed to design a London hotel and a New York hotel has adapted its own interpretation to the fashion designer idea. The Armani hotel in Dubai, housed in the tallest building in the world, opened its doors today. The hotel is situated in the Burj Khalifa tower and was meant to open in March but was hit with delays. The hotel is situated between the concourse and the eighth floor, as well as levels 38 and 39 of the tower.

The hotel features 160 guest rooms and suites and 144 residences and is not to be the first hotel to be designed by the fashion house Giorgio Armani. The brand has signed with Emaar Properties to build and operate at least another six luxury hotels and three vacation resorts under the Armani name over the next ten years.

It will be interesting to see how guests staying at this new hotel in Dubai will find the accommodation. As it is Armani’s debut, the feedback will perhaps determine whether the other planned developments will go ahead. Another hotel is planned for Milan, with resorts in Marrakech, Morocco and Marassi, Egypt in the pipeline.
