Rockwell Group to unveil Barcelona’s ‘hippest hotel’ this September

Nobu Hotel Barcelona, a member of the prestigious Preferred Hotels & Resorts Collection, will open its doors this September with the aim of being a place where the vibrant energy of the Catalan capital meets the iconic spirit of Nobu Hotels…

Home to 259 sleek rooms and stylish suites, a 150sqm Nobu Suite, an elegant spa and gym as well as tailor made meeting and event spaces, Nobu Hotel Barcelona, slated to open in September of this year, will house the city’s first Nobu Restaurant along with the Japanese inspired tapas bar; Kozara.

Capturing the unique essence of this famous European city, Nobu Hotel Barcelona will reflect the core values that have become synonymous with Nobu Hotels; passionate service, distinctive design and unpretentious luxury.

“Nobu Hotel Barcelona is the fourth European and third Spanish property from the internationally renowned hospitality brand.”

The interiors, conceptualised by award-winning architecture and design firm, Rockwell Group, seamlessly blend Japanese minimalism with the colourful character of Barcelona to create an integrated mix of luxurious hotel and energised living spaces. Recognisably Catalan-inspired designs, such as the works of Gaudi, are mingled with the traditional Japanese craft of Kintsugi; the art of repairing broken pottery with either gold, silver or platinum, to create collages of materials, textures and spaces throughout the hotel.

Located on the top floor of the 23-storey property, guests can dine at Nobu’s world-famous namesake while taking in unrivalled views of the Barcelona city line and the Mediterranean. The menu will reflect Nobu’s philosophy of locality; paying homage to local ingredients and classic Catalan cuisine, while staying true to the brand’s Japanese DNA.

Located in the charmingly Catalan neighbourhood of Eixample, the hotel is just a five minute stroll from Plaza de España, a mere 15 minutes from Barcelona’s buzzy La Rambla or a short walk to the main railway station for high speed links to Madrid, Paris, Lyon and Marseille making it ideal for laid-back luxury explorers and business travellers alike.

Nobu Hotel Barcelona is the fourth European and third Spanish property from the internationally renowned hospitality brand founded by Robert De Niro, Nobu Matsuhisa and Meir Teper. Working together with the Spanish hospitality group owned by Jordi Mestre, Selenta, Nobu Hotel Barcelona offers guests and locals a luxury lifestyle experience with a genuine Catalan feel.

Following popular demand, Nobu Hotels it will also expand its Marbella base this Summer…

Following its launch last year, Nobu Hotel Marbella, which is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH), has announced that it will double in size with the opening of a further 40 rooms and suites for the 2019 season.

The design of these rooms, led by Jean Pierre Martel, of M&P Archidesign Consulting, will follow the same style seen throughout the existing rooms; a distinct minimalistic and chic design, with everything crafted and created in Spain. Each area will feature a contemporary mix of ‘white-on-white’ décor, natural oak detailing and calming, neutral tones will invite guests to wind down and relax during the day.

Unlike any other hospitality offer in Spain’s most famous year-round resort community, the exclusively for grown-up’s hotel with 81 guest suites, offers the same vibrant mix of contemporary design, gastronomy and good times that has established the reputation of its sister property, Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay.

Created with the sophisticated sybarite in mind, Nobu Hotel Marbella curates a unique guest experience that blends the best of Andalusian charm, hospitality and unbeatable weather; with the attention to detail, signature design and contemporary flair for which the Nobu brand is famous.

The hotel’s signature Nobu restaurant is designed to be upscale, playful and high-energy. Offering a journey through the senses, the interior design transports the diner to a kind of modernised Japanese canteen, where wood and warm atmospheres play a leading role. The mix of indulgent cream leathers and rich wooden tones give this delectable destination a simultaneous feeling of warmth, intimacy and excitement, all emblazoned with the iconic Nobu logo. Flanked by two impressive floor-to-ceiling wine display coolers, this space represents Marbella for the stylish grown-up set – a place to be seen – and has in turn, become a magnet for food lovers, tastemakers and celebrities.

The adjacent Nobu Lounge is an eclectic space with an international feel. Featuring design-led Andrew Martin furniture, wall art, mid-century vintage objects, and original artwork and posters, the lounge is an inviting space. Encouraging guests to relax and have a good time, Martel has made the lounge as authentic as possible by collecting each piece of décor personally.

Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay Officially Launches

After opening its doors almost a year ago in one of the most sought-after address in the Balearic Islands, Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay is said to have become the island’s new 5-star premier hotel…

Following the launch of Nobu Marbella last week, Nobu Hospitality’s co-founders – Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper – have officially cut the ribbon to Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay, which opened its doors last summer.

The faces of the brand along with owners Ian and Richard Livingstone, Daniel Shamoon and Jennica Arazi, hosted the official launch of the hotel with a traditional Sake Ceremony.

Located on the shores of Talamanca Bay, Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay shelters 152 designer rooms and is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World. With a flair for drawing on all the island has to offer, the hotel provides guests with an authentic island escape, with carefully curated Ibizan-style rooms and suites, two private seafront pools, four restaurants designed by STUDIO PCH and a spa by Six Senses.

A creative collaboration between the owners with the Madrid-based Procurement Company Professional; every detail at Ibiza Bay has been designed with the guests’ comfort in mind.

Seamlessly blending the outdoors in to capture the authentic island’s elements, the rooms and suites, two private seafront pools, restaurants and spa have been inspired by the white island, (La isla blanca), turquoise of the Balearic sea and gold from the Mediterranean sunshine.

A crisp palette has been achieved with the combination of limestone floors and whitewashed walls. The character of Ibiza Bay is drawn out by bespoke furniture made by local Spanish artisans. These pieces blend into the indigenous natural Ibizan materials such as light-coloured wood beams, “piedra laja” stone cut walls and typical white washed “biriba”, cane ceilings. Creating a luxe, chilled, lounging vibe in the lobby area are raffia lamps, a macrame hanging chair and comfortable rattan sofas are intuitively peppered with striking international design pieces.

In the guestrooms, floor-to-ceiling windows and open terraces accentuate the striking sea-views, which can been seen from 80 per cent of the 152 Ibizan style rooms and suites. Tasteful details throughout include mother-of-pearl inlay and hand-blown pendant lights with hand painted headboards that are framed in bronze and complement the woven rope over-sized armchairs. Taking inspiration from the ever-changing colours of the waters surrounding Ibiza and Talamanca Bay; flashes of celadon, turquoise, lapis and indigo can be found within the rugs, fabrics and handmade ceramics with gold present in brass details which reflect the sun. Accessed through a sleek, sliding mirrored door glamorous white marbled bathrooms are completed with Dornbracht fittings and Hollywood style brass bulb lights to the mirror for added glamour. Whilst within the main room, a cool, relaxed and comfortable vibe is achieved with organic bed linens, a ‘grown-up’ in house bar and dressing area.
