This October marks the opening of M Social Auckland, an exciting new lifestyle hotel positioned on the waterfront in Auckland’s prime CBD. The opening marks the expansion of Millennium Hotels and Resorts’ M Social brand to two properties, following the successful launch of Philippe Starck-designed M Social Singapore last summer.

Centred around the design experience, M Social Auckland offers contemporary form and function in a casual setting, featuring spaces that are designed to be accessible and flexible to guests’ needs; an extension of the democratic design concept which typifies M Social Singapore. It provides a modern space for those who live, work and play in the neighbourhood, as well as a social base for curious travellers.

The 190-room hotel is home to five distinct guestroom categories comprising the Social Room, Social View Room, Social Club Room, Social Tribe Room and Social Tribe View Room. There is also two suite categories, namely the Harbour Suite and Ocean Suite. Leading to the rooms, each floor at M Social Auckland has a defining theme, featuring elements of local culture such as the fauna, marine life and literature.

The perfect base for those who love to spread out, each category comes with separate sleeping and living areas along with indulgent freestanding bathtubs.

The M Social brand embraces technology: the hotel has self-check-in kiosks to ensure a quick and streamlined process as well as a traditional reception desk and concierge service. A digital information pack is sent to guests prior to arrival, while high-tech smart TVs in each room feature further information on the hotel along with various apps useful for both business and leisure travellers. A media wall at the hotel also displays practical information such as transport timetables, the weather forecast and details on local activities.

Nigel Edwards, General Manager of M Social Auckland commented: “We are extremely excited to bring such a vibrant lifestyle hotel to Auckland that embraces local culture. Not only will M Social Auckland provide the perfect base for travellers, it will constantly evolve and become a local hotspot for those who live, work and play in the area to socialise.”

Franck Kermarrec, Chief Marketing Officer at Millennium Hotels and Resorts commented: “Following the much-anticipated launch of M Social Singapore in June 2016, we are delighted to expand our portfolio further with the launch of M Social Auckland. The property strengthens our lifestyle offering, and with plans to expand the brand further in the near future, it is a very exciting time for us.”
