Staff at a leading Birmingham-based silversmith are celebrating after delivering a tableware order for a new London restaurant in record time.Heritage Collection designed, manufactured and delivered a complex order of bespoke silverware, cutlery and glassware to the newly opened Palomar restaurant in Soho in just three weeks.

The order consisted of more than 2,500 items to be used in the restaurant’s 40-cover dining space and 16-cover Zinc kitchen bar.

Palomar, in Rupert Street in the heart of London’s theatre-land, serves food of modern Jerusalem, heavily influenced by the cuisine of southern Spain and North Africa. It is the first restaurant of its kind in the UK.

Chairman of Small Heath-based Heritage Collection, Martin McDonagh said, “This was a particularly challenging contract because of the short lead times involved. We had to produce pieces from bespoke designs ready for delivery in just three weeks. It involved a lot of hard work and long hours but we were delighted to be able to complete and deliver it on time.”

Palomar director Layo Paskin said they were delighted to have found a UK manufacturer with Heritage’s capabilities.

“We spent 18 months planning the restaurant, from the menus to the intricate design and build and all of the branding aesthetics. We searched hard to find a company to manufacture the tableware, as we wanted this to be equally special. Then we met Martin from Heritage and it was perfect. We were incredibly pleased to find a British factory that was willing and able to make bespoke tableware and interpret our ideas in a very short lead time. It provided the finishing touch and the perfect complement to everything about the restaurant,” he said.

Heritage Collection, established in 1976, manufactures high quality, bespoke tableware for the world’s most iconic hotels and restaurants. The company combines traditional skills with the latest design and prototyping technologies to produce a portfolio of luxurious tableware. The company’s clients include The Ritz, The Dorchester, the QE2 and intercontinental Hotels.
