Yorkshire brand Roomzzz Aparthotel have recently acquired their ninth site. Known for their progressive expansion throughout the UK, the brand have announced their purchase of The Welbeck Hotel in Nottingham. In a move outside the brand’s usual remit – Roomzzz Aparthotel are currently operating The Welbeck Hotel prior to a £3M refurbishment which will commence in January 2015. The hotel which currently hosts 96 bedrooms was bought out of administration by Roomzzz Aparthotel in July 2014 and will be eventually transformed into Roomzzz Nottingham City. The new £3M scheme will feature individual apartments, complete with kitchens and living areas in keeping with core brand values.

Roomzzz are also promising luxury penthouse suites in this scheme as an exciting addition and enhancement to the building’s features. Mark Walton Head of Roomzzz Aparthotel UK comments ‘the heritage of the Welbeck Hotel is an important one in the Nottingham area. We are pleased to have been able to preserve the building’s use for accommodation and look forward to reviving the building and consequently the area through our refurbishment process’.

Roomzzz have conducted guest surveys in the lead up to the purchase and results show that both business and leisure travellers have requested a Midlands Roomzzz Aparthotel. Walton continues ‘Nottingham is a key area for us – we have been seeking out an opportunity to plug a gap in the marketplace in this area and with this are pleased to raise the bar on Nottingham’s accommodation offering as a premier but affordable alternative to hotels with this site. We are confident that Roomzzz Nottingham City will boost Nottingham’s economy in terms of the calibre of professional and long stay guests Roomzzz Aparthotel attracts.’

The purchase of the Welbeck Hotel site brings the Roomzzz City count to seven with nine proprieties in total. In 2015 Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle will be joined by Chester, Nottingham, London and Liverpool. The expansion of the brand has been strategic to meet up with demand, with a proven track record to enhance an area. Roomzzz guests are typically professionals and international guests looking for a longer term stay than a hotel can reasonably offer. Guests are encouraged to stay longer term with the convenience of a kitchen, living and dining rooms within the apartments making for a home from home environment’. Roomzzz sites are successful showcases of Aparthotels can benefit a City by attracting high spend and longer staying visitors.

Roomzzz Nottingham City is scheduled to open at the beginning of 2015.
