Renaissance Hotels has announced its latest addition in France. The 110-room Renaissance Paris Hippodrome de St Cloud Hotel opened on 24 June 2014 and is located in the grounds of Paris’ most prestigious private leisure club, the Paris Country Club. Surrounded by lush green and tranquil countryside and just 15 minutes by car from downtown Paris, the hotel is also close to the St Cloud Hippodrome horse racing track and offers an ideal escape from city life. The country house style hotel has been designed to emulate the Paris Country Club’s traditional Normandy architecture with its timber and thatch frame. This is complemented by the Feng Shui inspired interior design by renowned French designer, Jean-Philippe Nuel who has created uncluttered, open spaces that are welcoming and inviting. The colour palette features natural cream and beige tones which complement the modern lighting, while the specially commissioned equestrian themed artwork and leather furnishings reflect the countryside surroundings.

In addition to the hippodrome, the hotel offers an abundance of activities, lending itself perfectly to both weekend escapes and business travel. Guests can play a round of golf on the 9-hole golf course or relax at the fitness centre and wellness area boasting outdoor pool, treatment cabins and steam room. The hotel also offers the Renaissance Hotels’ Navigator concierge programme which helps guests to discover local cultural experiences such as the Chateau de La Malmaison, a beautiful 18th century manor house, once the home of Napoleon Bonaparte and his wife Joséphine.

Classic French dishes can be enjoyed at the hotel restaurant, ‘H’ – named in honour of the nearby hippodrome. Split into two different sections, guests can choose from a more formal dining experience or a relaxed, laid back ambience with comfortable seating and low tables. Signature dishes include lobster ravioli with vegetable minestrone and lobster salad with potatoes from the French island of Noirmoutier.

For meeting and events, the hotel offers six meeting spaces across 540 square metres, all with natural light and state-of-the-art technology. These can be combined with 12 meeting rooms at the Paris Country Club, increasing available meeting space to 2,600 square metres. For special events, the sun-kissed terraces or huge garden can host many different event types from cocktail parties to weddings.
