Bergman Design House has revealed new details of their completed design vision for Mondrian Al Marjan Island Beach Residences, developed by ELEVATE in partnership with global hospitality leader Ennismore, the development is expected to open in 2028…
On Al Marjan Island, where the Arabian Gulf rolls in like liquid glass and the Wynn Resort shimmers on the horizon, Mondrian Al Marjan rises as an icon, part art installation, part social playground, entirely a testament to design seduction. This address, with architecture by Gensler, is a curated lifestyle experience where every space is designed to inspire, connect and endure.

Design philosophy
Drawing from the rhythms of the ocean and the dynamic energy of Ras Al Khaimah’s evolving luxury scene, Bergman Design House blends sculptural forms, organic textures and luminous palettes that reflect the shimmer of the Gulf. Every detail is a dialogue between avant-garde artistry and timeless comfort, resulting in spaces that are as emotionally resonant as they are visually striking.
The development will feature an extensive range of residents’ amenities, spanning more than 5,570 square metres (60,000 square feet), designed to make Mondrian Al Marjan the pinnacle of experiential living in the Emirate.
Marie Soliman, Founder & Creative Director of Bergman Design House, said: “The Gulf gave us our starting point – its colour, its light, the way it changes hour to hour. We wanted the interiors to move with it, so nothing in this building feels fixed or finished. It keeps revealing itself.”

The lobby
The lobby opens as a working, ‘cultural gallery’, as Mark Eacott, Global Head of Design at Ennismore, describes: rotating exhibitions by regional and international artists sit alongside digital installations, refreshed through the year so the first impression residents form never quite repeats. This fluid design intent sets the register for everything that follows – art and interior design treated as infrastructure.

Mondrian Sky Lounge – elevated sociality
Suspended high above the ocean, the Sky Lounge delivers panoramic views, innovative mixology and interiors that encourage both intimate conversation and the grandeur apt for its setting. is as much a visual showpiece as it is a social epicentre.
Suspended high above the ocean, the Sky Lounge is built around a circular marble bar set against a wall of backlit glass discs, their blue carried through the room in velvet upholstery and textured banquette panels. A sculptural pendant of blown glass and bronze rings hangs low over the bar; reeded bronze screens mark out the seating without closing it in. Three arched alcoves, lined in a wave-textured fabric, hold their own conversations at the edge of the room, while a long boucle sofa anchors the centre and sage-green armchairs fill out the floor around low copper-based tables. Every sightline runs to the same point: a glass edge where the room gives way to the coastline and the water beyond.

The fitness experience
Across indoor and outdoor space, the fitness centre opens directly onto a covered terrace, palm trees and pool beyond a wall of glass. Indoors, state-of-the-art treadmills and strength machines run along a sculptural stone wall fitted with towel and water niches, with a yoga and Pilates studio, treatment rooms and a dedicated contrast therapy suite set further back.
Outside, a steel training rig holds gymnastic rings, kettlebells and battle ropes on rubber matting, with loungers and a boucle armchair marking the point where the programme folds back indoors.
Adults-only Sky Pool
From Los Angeles to Ibiza, Mondrian properties are celebrated for their iconic pool scenes and Al Marjan Island is no exception. Perched more than 200 feet above the sea, the infinity Adults-Only Sky Pool will become a new symbol of Ras Al Khaimah’s skyline. Designed with Mondrian’s signature finishes, it frames uninterrupted views of the Arabian Gulf and transforms every sunset into a spectacle.

Curated beach experience
At ground level, the beachfront has been conceived as its own lifestyle destination, with Filia restaurant at the centre. Rattan chairs and green-striped banquettes sit beneath scalloped umbrellas in a botanical print, with woven rattan lanterns strung through a lit tree overhead. The dining terrace, laid in checkerboard tile, runs straight to an infinity pool lit teal at dusk, white daybeds set at its edge and rows of navy-striped umbrellas marking the loungers beyond. The same terrace continues past the pool to open sand, framed by candlelight, string lighting and the treeline behind.

Residences as works of art
The Penthouses – very much the jewel in the hotel’s crown are wrapped in glass walls, and feature bespoke marble, private terraces and and spa-like bathrooms.
The Apartments – intelligent in their layouts – offer uninterrupted sea views with coastal-meets-cosmopolitan colour palettes. Meanwhile, sculptural lighting throughout transforms each home into a personal art piece.
